Could someone please reccomend a tyre for my car, something sticky even in the wet, But aswell i dont want to spend 3000 on tyres something decent and good for the money. I also like to drag so something for the Street and drag. Im willing to spend between $200-300 per tyre.

Federal 595RS-R's :ermm:

+1. KU36s are cheaper and well regarded, but less grippy than the RSRs. I figure with 320kw you want all the grip you can get. Might be a touch over $300 per tyre, but excellent value.

EDIT: Oh i have NFI about drag specifically, comments apply to street and track.

i found federal 595ss absolute crap, i can break traction 1st and half of 2nd in my gtr with 330kw with 4wd working and without launching

when launching its a joke no traction what so ever

tyres only have just over 7000kms on them

Falken 452's

They are ussualy $275 per tyres and average a wet rating of 4.7 out of 5 & a dry rating of 4.6 out of five if you look around on the bnet at tyre forums and review sites.

They are not a slick, they are a performance tyre (although my be labeled a wet weather tyre) designed for wet weather driving & street/light track.

They are the compeating tyre too the toyo proxy T1R.

Best thing about them is they never lose traction unless you come into a corner doing 140km with your foot on the brake!!!

Worst feature is noise and they average 30,000km but its very good as the tyre is a EXTREAMLY soft rubber.

These tyres are great for street driving and i have never ever had my slip light come on in the wet and on track are great for light work.

Fed SS and Falken 452s are normal street tyres. I used Fed SS and they were good for street but not much chop for track. The S spec KU36 and RSRs will have a much higher grip level, but compromise wear noise comfort etc over a full street tyre. Personally i dont notice the difference in noise/comfort with Falken RT-615s or Fed RSRs tho.

What size rim do you have? If you have the stock 32 GTR rim then Birdgestone adrenalines.

I put them on my car running 370 kw at the treads and in first gear in the wet they dont break traction. I thought my clutch was slipping!

Falken 452's are used by a some guy in drifting comps. Aussie tyres on the central coast sponsor him with those tyres. Somthing like 75% off but he cant afford them now so he is using cheap nexen 2000's (stay away from that crap)

i have them all round on my R32 GTR

i have 320rwkw, similar power

my rims are 17's

i have 235 x 45 R17 all round, picked them up for exactly $300 each

pretty pricey but they do work really well, had them on the street car for about 10 months now.

i dont track the car so i can't tell you from my experience what they're like but i'd assume that the compound is good enough not to 'chunk'

they're great when you can get some heat in them, i can take corners in the hills so much better now and with more confidence.

and the wet weather grip is great, i was spinning all 4 in the wet on the weekend but it was pouring down in Adelaide and i really did put my foot down. so with a couple millimetres of water on the road and over 300kw what can you expect?

    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers    
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
    • Pull codes via the self-diagnosis procedure. As far as I can tell this is just a sign of transmission issues but not a code unto itself.
    • Hi All, putting the engine back together and everything is perfect except have this plug left over.. any ideas what it is for and where it goes? Is on cold side under the intake plenum *note not a stock plug, as everything has been modified Cheers
