I took these the other night:

I love how in these two shots, the ash floating up into the air is leaving "trails" of light.

In this one, I've highlighted the area where there was water boiling from within the logs. The firewood that was bought was wet, unfortunately, so even though it did make the fire pretty smoky at times, it did give me a chance to capture this shot of the heat forcing the water to evaporate.

In this last one, a cardboard tube was placed in the fire, and it made a chimney effect for a while until it caught on fire too.

Holy SHitballs! Everyone has been busy busy! All good too!

Nick, where's my invite? You can't burn shit and not me around to throw random objects in the fire :D

Nice and clean Zennon. So you used a GD to get the gradient, or was that post shot magic?

I took some pics today, and not of cars ! AMAZING! Here's a couple until i can be bothered to throw some more up.

^ Last shot is good matt. Lighting seems much better and composition is great :)

Rhys - Do you think the first two shots would better if you took them at sunrise or sunset? Just a suggestion. It gives another mood. Or when there is a bit of colour in the clouds.

So im the process of setting up a studio. There is a lot to clean, but slowly getting there.

The backdrop is out only half way. I still got a few more meters in front.

IMG_9852.jpg

I need to find a better way of taking the backdrop in and out. Right now its just on light stands. Will go into bunnings tomorrow and see if they got a automatic thingy.. Or a chain to pull the backdrop down and up.

some more pics:

Nah don't have any grad filters so added the grad in PP

the water in foreground was an ugly brown (it is the Brisbane river after all :P) so it worked out well

I'm not one of those crazy purist types so I doubt i'd ever bother getting an actual real grad filter

since its so easy to do in PP

Nice work Sidd. I'd really like to set up a room in the house as a studio eventually when it's all built. Not sure if it will actually happen, but it's on the list :P

The top and bottom pic was taken with proper lighting. The rest were taken with a pair of speedlights. It was my first time shooting people. Much more complicated than cars :) hahaha

You can buy Alien Bee's from AB's australian distributor.

Alien Bees Website

All of his stuff cost about $2K. Mine cost $1700, the only things different Sidd bought was a Beauty Dish and Light stand.

It's good stuff! About damn time he bought them! Been waiting almost a year for it!

Lepper, I'm not sure what that means but I'll say... Thanks? I think.

Sidd, they're not the most interesting photos. I'll try put some colour into the clouds with PS tonight, see how we go. Might go back after work one night and try again at sunset. Thanks for the advice

    • Ok thanks..that was my second question if i can somehow bypass this even with Nistune(that is all i have right now...aparat from stock ECU. So with some aftemarket it can by "bypassed" or make it work?  I know there is Link or Haltech (mainly used). We have ECUmaster here so i will gather some info about it.
    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
