^^ No idea.

Burnsie. Rear strut braces are a straight fit, some front braces for S13s don't go onto Cefiro's because S13 braces obviously accomodate for SRs and CAs, so sometimes thye won't clear the larger RB20 throttle body and BoV. It's a hit and miss. Best bet is a Cusco or some kind of 3 point brace that runs back and along the firewall, rather than straight from strut to strut.

yeah i know they fit on the front but its the rear that i wanna know.. im assuming its a r32 rear strut brace that fits cos the bolt holes are more square if u know wat i mean...

Power Window Relay

Bluebird (unknown generation, year, "its the one with the SSS variant)

it's the U13 bluebird, the SSS also runs SR-DET brakes (discs and calipers) on the front too

they might also be the same in the U12 bluebird, pintara or ford corsair (re-baded pintara) as the winder mechanism's are very similar and share the same parts apart from some of the bracketry which if u are handy with modification u should be able to make 1 out of your old cef mech and the pintara mech as i am going to try... i will post pics if successful

Steering Rack

S13 Silvia - NOT a direct fit. Requires pinion housing to be swapped to match A31/C33 Steering Collumn.

Tailshaft

Rear/Long Half - A31/C33 Specific, not interchangeable with any other vehicle.

Front/Short Half (inc Centre Bearing) - R32 Skyline (for RB20 gearboxes), R33 Skyline (for RB25 gearboxes - possibly requires further modification)

R32 GTR air con compressor:

The black wire is too short and has the wrong plug. Chop the one off your old compressor and solder it on.

The red wire is for a pressure switch and can be left disconnected as the pressure switch is elsewhere on an A31.

The mounting bolt at the top of the compressor at the back of the engine bay is too short, either replace with a new one or maybe the one from the original R32 will work.

There is an extra part bolted to the R32 one that relocates one of the pipes. This can be unbolted and removed. When you see it it's obvious.

Once you sort those out, it works beautifully.

Edited by Lum

Can't edit my post, but it turns out that the plug is not the wrong one, the aircon bloke made a mistake and didn't realise that half the loom-side plug was still attached.

As for the wire being too short, you can remove a few cable ties and reroute that bit of cable, so no soldering or crimping needed.

Guys, so basically, bought my cef with no drivers seat, including seat belt clip (female part) chucked some s15 seats and clips in. Belts don't plug in. I've tried r32, r33, s15, s13, none work. Actual seat belt looks stock (15yr old import, so doubt they'd be changed). Anyone else had a,similar issue? What female part did you use?

what you use is complete belt components, use r32 male and female and it will work, you can't mix and match the male from one car to a female from another

if you have a full set then try it out, if not just get r32 ones they will fit but who knows what other ones can fit

edit

CRAP, you posted in the wrong section and you fooled me too >_<

FRONT STRUT BRACE CONFIRMED

so needing a front strut brace i bought a pair for s13 on ebay from seller n*power. now there isnt 100% confirmed info out there so i just figured i'd test fit it and make it work.

so the braces arrived and i did fit up the front one to get an idea on where it was fouling. i noticed the section that holds the bar on was somewhat offset ( see pic sb3 ) so what i did was unbolt the bar from the two mounting points and bolt them on so that the offset was closer to the firewall. now bit made a good difference but i could see that is was just fouling on the throttle cable mount.

i put the bar covered in a rag and some soft wood ,to cushion the clamping marks, on a bench vice which is obviously bolted to a bench. got a 1 meter RHS post i hand laying around and bent it slightly. bolted it back on, adjusted the bar now being shorter due to the bend and it all fits. you can see the bend on the drivers side as its higher.

Since the other thread turned into a free-for-all whorehouse which never got updated, let's start again. I'm also breaking parts down into catagories for easier finding.

Use your browsers search function to search this page, usually its CTRL+F.

Please, for the love of God, keep the chit chat out of this one, if you have questions, search the forum, if you still have a question, post a thread.

This took me a few hours to write up and filter out all the bullshit, I have removed SOME parts from the original list to prevent confusion, I have also ADDED some parts to the list, and specifically added alot of AWD parts compatibility.

As usual, post CONFIRMED parts only, please state exactly what it is from, and what it will fit.

Ignitor = Z32 , i haven't started it yet but it plugs straight in :)

Can confirm it's the same. In fact, Nissan USA did a recall of it, and replaced it with this puppy:

$(KGrHqIOKiIE4orfF6u6BOTuhqgEJQ~~48_12.JPG

part number "22020-97E25" which is a kit containing a newer ignitor module, a conversion harness (from that shithouse wire clip thing that always goes twangggg and flies somewhere into your engine bay never to be found again) and a mounting bracket to lift it away from the engine and cool it. Whole thing goes for about $170 brand new in the US.

Oh and the coils are all the same as a CA18DE/T. The whole fuckin engine is out of an R31 GTS-R if you want to put it in terms the local nissan shops can understand, so all the bolt on parts are the same.

    • Well, after the full circus this week (new gearbag, 14 psi actuator on, injectors and AFM upgraded, and.....turbo repair) the diagnosis on the wastegate is in. It was broken. It was broken in a really strange way. The weld that holds the lever arm onto the wastegate flapper shaft broke. Broke completely, but broke in such a way that it could go back together in the "correct" position, or it could rearrange itself somewhere else along the fracture plane and sit with the flapper not parallel to the lever. So, who knows how and when exactly what happened? No-one will ever know. Was it broken like this the first time it spat the circlip and wedged itself deep into the dump? Or was it only broken when I tried to pry it back into place? (I didn't try that hard, but who knows?). Or did it break first? Or did it break between the first and second event of wierdness? Meh. It doesn't matter now. It is welded back together. And it is now held closed by a 14 psi actuator, so...the car has been tuned with the supporting mods (and the order of operations there is that the supporting mods and dyno needed to be able to be done first before adding boost, because it was pinging on <<14 psi with the new turbo with only a 6 psi actuator). And then tuned up a bit, and with the boost controller turned off throughout that process. So it was only running WG pressure and so only hit about 15-16 psi. The turbo is still ever so slightly lazier than might be preferred - like it is still a bit on the big side for the engine. I haven't tested it on the road properly in any way - just driven it around in traffic for a half hour or so. But it is like chalk and cheese compared to what it was. Between dyno numbers and driving feedback: It makes 100 kW at 3k rpm, which is OK, could be better. That's stock 2JZ territory, or RB20 with G series 550. It actually starts building boost from 2k, which is certainly better than it did recently (with all the WG flapper bullshit). Although it's hard to remember what it was like prior to all that - it certainly seems much, much better. And that makes sense, given the WG was probably starting to blow open at anything above about 3 psi anyway (with the 6 psi actuator). It doesn't really get to "full boost" (say 16 psi) until >>4k rpm. I am hopeful that this is a feature of the lack of boost controller keeping boost pressure off the actuator, because it was turned off for the dyno and off for the drives afterward. There's more to be found here, I'm sure. It made 230 rwkW at not a lot more than 6k and held it to over 7k, so there seems to be plenty of potential to get it up to 250-260rwkW with 18 psi or so, which would be a decent effort, considering the stock sized turbo inlet pipework and AFM, and the return flow cooler. According to Tao, those things should definitely put a bit of a limit on it by that sort of number. I must stress that I have not opened the throttle 100% on the road yet - well, at least not 100% and allowed it to wind all the way up. It'll have to wait until some reasonable opportunity. I'm quite looking forward to that - it feels massively better than it has in a loooong time. It's back to its old self, plus about 20% extra powers over the best it ever did before. I'm going to get the boost controller set up to maximise spool and settle at no more than ~17 psi (for now) and then go back on the dyno to see what we can squeeze out of it. There is other interesting news too. I put together a replacement tube to fit the R35 AFM in the stock location. This is the first time the tuner has worked with one, because anyone else he has tuned for has gone from Z32 territory to aftermarket ECU. No-one has ever wanted to stay Nistuned and do what I've done. Anyway, his feedback is that the R35 AFM is super super super responsive. Tiny little changes in throttle position or load turn up immediately as a cell change on the maps. Way, way more responsive than any of the old skool AFMs. Makes it quite diffifult to tune as you have to stay right on top of that so you don't wander off the cell you wanted to tune. But it certainly seems to help with real world throttle response. That's hard to separate from all the other things that changed, but the "pedal feel" is certainly crisp.
    • I'm a bit confused by this post, so I'll address the bit I understand lol.  Use an air compressor and blow away the guide coat sanding residue. All the better if you have a moisture trap for your compressor. You'd want to do this a few times as you sand the area, you wouldn't for example sand the entire area till you think its perfect and then 'confirm' that is it by blowing away the guide coat residue.  Sand the area, blow away the guide coat residue, inspect the panel, back to sanding... rinse and repeat.
    • The detail level is about right for the money they charge for the full kit... AU$21.00 each issue, 110 issues for a total of $2,300 (I mentioned $2.2K in the first post when the exchange rate was better). $20/week is doable... 😐
    • If planning on joining us for the day(s) please indicate by filling in this form. https://forms.gle/Ma8Nn4DzYVA8uDHg7
    • You put the driver's seat on the wrong side! Incredible detail on all of this. It looks like you could learn a lot about the car just from assembling the kit.
