Heya All,

OK I have tried the for sale section and am having no luck so thought i would try so place a bit more locally.

As I am buying the blue lit up dash in the group buy i was wondering if anyone has a 60mm boost gauge that also lights up blue that they might be selling so it can match my new dash! (hey i have to have at least one piece of rice on my car! :-) ) so if you are or know anywhere that has got some nice cheap 60mm boost gauges lying around please let me know :-)

Thanks All!

Dan

I may have some of the little blue condom things. If I do you can have 'em.

Dan, I've got the exact same "rice" that you talk about. Cept I used an HKS Direct Bright 60mm boost gauge to match my dash and can tell you now, the HKS meter is a lot brighter and bluer than my dash on full glow and full blue setting. Would be hard to match perfectly but I love my HKS gauge all the same. You'll be surprised what it costs to get brand new....I got for about $250 with pillar holder brand new from greenline....not that expensive in my opinion....it's mechanical of course....just more food for thought....

super cheap sell boost guages, picked one up for my skyline cheap there

80$ i think is what it cost me

just white face guage, cup holder,

when you wire it in , you can press a little button that makes it change 1 of 10 colors , red, white , blue , light blue, good guage

did the job, but wasnt lighthouse bright ,t he light was in the lower left hand corner of the screen

you can always print out the apexi logo color it in red, and paste it on the guage

Sweeeeet! Awesome feedback!

Which HKS meter is it? I already have an A pilar for it to go into.

Hippy - which Apexi boost gauge is it? Trying to keep around the $100 mark (still paying off a $7000 engine rebuild!!!) can prob go a little bit higher for apexi boost gauge

MarkR33 - your a champ will also check it out over the weekend...that sounds very good!

Any of the auto meter spitfire whatever brand guage with the condoms just look week when compared with the ID or EL type jap brands, i really dont care about looks but when going for guages the jap brands are much more easier to read at night

Dan - i got my Apexi gauge brand new for abt AUD150... if ure not in a hurry, i'll be back in Perth on the 15th so i could look for something for u here if u want :)

im in Msia at the moment and came across 2 used Defi meters (white face - boost & ex temp) with controller for just over AUD200 hahah helps that the current exchange rate is 3 to 1 or something like that

go to motorquipe or repco they have the autometer look alike gauges that light up 7 colours or you can get the el face blue one

i used to have a 52mm one but you can get 60mm

yep what rspct said , same guage i was talking about looks good, if you ever sell your car you wont get that much more with brand name guages, sell it to some young punk dazzle him with some , WHOOSH and some PSSSHHT and he will forget the brand of your guages

give him some stickers with it aswell, like the ones you see on the front of 86 pulsars like NISMO / Tuned by HKS , give him some of those and youll get your moneys worth :)

thats if your only selling your car :) sorry to ramble

    • http://calfinn.com.au/product/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c/1500kg-standard-trolley-jack-cj-2t-c   I have this and fits under a S3 33 GTR with no issues. Purchased in 2009 and not one issue. It was $950 back then. Not cheap but something so important isn’t worth cheaping out on.
    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
    • Perhaps the answer is... more jacks!* *proper jacks must be used.
