cool thx for clearing that up :D looks like the 32s all had pretty interesting results

I was sure that redbacks nur would be pulling more than he did which is why I thought i'd ask

Redbacks car, from what I heard, is running a very "light" tune...

correct and did you see the plumage of black smoke coming out of it mega rich = power loss

both mainline dynos

when i got my car back it made 239 rwkw @ Jaustech monday then made 235 awkw @ Willall on Friday 4kw difference Martin looked @ the dyno readout from Jaustech and set his dyno up exactly the same ramp rates

honestly they are Champs i rang him @ 4:30 asking can i get an AFR check and i need it ASAP he got me on within 30 mins and spent like 1hr as hose clamps blew off and what not then only charged $70 which he quoted

but i cant speak highly enough of Martin either rang on friday said can i get him to look @ my tune and said bring it down after lunch and spent time with me getting a hiccup out

Is there a video of the day at all with the cars being run? Would love to get a copy. Filmed the 32 on the dyno but the sounds clips before the cars even get an decent power happening.....didn't help the little sis took the camera for a camp the same weeked :P

great day thanks to everyone for behaving as executives we have heard nothing but praise

BIG thanks to Gareth for putting every car on Thank you Martin and Thanks to Paul

Some nice power outputs there Maz!!! :(

Glad to see the day was a success :)

*WARNING* NSFW - You may wet yourself.

OMG HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(

Ben, David has a PowerFC - in fact it is the R32GTR one out of the R that was written off in Targa Tasmania a few months ago (as his old one shat itself). And yes, it is tuned rich as FCUK atm while he fully runs in the motor. Mind you he is not out for HUGE power, as he has chosen response rather than massive numbers - he is running a pair of HKS 2530s - my favourite turbo :)

There is a school of thought that washing the oil off the bores with excess fuel will bed the rings in faster - just not at my school :)

Seriously though, some nice cars and power outputs there on the day. I did guarantee you 600+ Nigthcrawlr, thankfully it delivered!

yeah, i went with the brand new N1's for that very reason too, and even at 250kw it rocks my jocks.. just want to join that elusive 300kw club if at all possibly without rooting stuff up - will wait and see what martin says about rebuilding my xfer case before i get too serious tho

-D

EDIT - And if he has a pfc, turbos and a nur, whats he waiting for? lol... a full tune will be so much better for his power, response, engine cleanliness and wallett - get he wants to run it in but if he wants to run it in, just keeping it under 5000rpm with a nice tune for the first 5000k would be enuff wouldnt it?

Group buy on rebuilding transfer case?

depends. getting gearboxes out of gtr's is not a quick job, would cost a fair bit i'd imagine, and I dont have a spare xfer case so my car would be off the road while that gets done.. ;\

have to wait n see what martin says.. i know a lot of the parts used in the rebuild are relatively cheap but its very labour intensive from all accounts

-D

If you are in no dire need of your four wheel drive system to work as sharply as it did from the factory then keep going with your existing transfer case. Like every other part of the car they wear out, and the more power, the faster :)

We have several rebuilt cases that we had done (new frictions and steels) that we swap out from time to time on the cars. The parts are available from Nissan :P

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
