it would be MUCH cheaper to sell up and buy a 33r that is already modded and midnight purple....

While I agree, and to be honest that was my original intention.

All the ones I looked at (14 over a 3 month period) had far too many cable ties and no proof of purchase to back the claims of all the marvellous modifications the young gentlemen claimed to have made. I was also surprised at the amount of GT-Rs that are only driven to church on sunday by their grandmothers :P

Stage 1 plus injectors, plus pipes, plus -9s, plus sump, plus fuel pump, plus lots of other goodies that seem to cost more than the original car.

What power output you looking for?

Having said that, after looking around at many of the R33 GT-Rs on car sales and going to see them, I am more then happy to spend the money on a reliable build that is done by a shop with a very good reputation.

Chris seemed very professional, and while perhaps higher priced than some builders his shop had a lack of hammers that was of considerable comfort :P

He's one of the best along to charge accordingly.

+ There is more to it then just building the engine as I am sure he has explained to you.

I am after 300-333kw (333 is good for my OCD) at the pretty wheels I will buy for it :)

From the look/build of most of the young gentlemen one could assume that the local McDonalds car park is as far as their car went :P

That is of course at a gentle speed, and in the afore mentioned car park not revving it to its limit to impress the like minded young ladies that enjoy the company of a man with a ruined motor vehicle :)

Well that depends on a few factors, tax returns, the 6 numbers for tattslotto and Chris working out I am his 100,000th customer and building it for free as a promotional event :P hehe

Build will start hopefully in 2 months time.

330... don't bother building it until (if) it pops... an unopened 25 will do that let alone a 26

I would like the peace of mind of reliability and giving the cost involved, I believe that rebuilding suits my requirements best :)

but what he is saying is that you dont have to spend the money until it pops. all the bolts can still be used after you have rebuilt the popped engine. save some kesh!

I understand, money is not an issue, can always make more :)

Now standing next to a broken GT-R on the freeway is an issue :P

fair point. end of the day its an rb. it will always be in the back of your mind that it will go pop.

It's always worth the thought...

I had a 300+ rwkw RB25 that was leant on for 3 years, which I then replaced for $1000 with another that is still going strong

you can do this 4/5 times before you come close to the cost of a build, and when a built motor lets go, you just blew a LOT of cash.

just food for thought... you can always build later if you decide you need to be in the 400 club

      @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo.       It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!

      The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
