I think Australia, or Victoria at least have travelled too deep into the nanny idea of safety, which is effective in revenue. Most probably they will just continue to tighten the reins.

Lucky I just quit my job where I'm driving 24,000kms a year and now I'm taking the train. oo-right! No tickets for mwah :O

Gahhhh this shit makes me rage, they do nothing to slow down drivers. Just money making machines, A cop car in full view with full police paintjob would be more effective in slowing people down than some speed camera.

watched the video, lmao at 'double skinned lexan windows... for the safety of the operator". im tipping they'll cop a fair workout.

im thinking about making a few signs saying 'filthy bastard speed camera ahead' and popping them on the side of the road when i see the filthy bastard things, to let other people know. i'll keep them in my ute, so they'll always be handy.

i can understand both sides..

as for safety - there is none.

purely revenue - and they always, ALWAYS claim they aint after revenue but safer roads.. lol

but on the other hand - never lost a point in all my years so its not hard to follow the *pathetic* laws.

+1

Same thing i say to everyone who says they aren't out to make money...

Whats the big deal, they are clearly signed, if you get fined, its your own fault.

the sign is in past tense. meaning that they are placed AFTER you've passed the camera. also they are using IR flashes now? wtf atleast you used to be sensible for the rest of the week/day/km once you saw the flas and knew you'd been done. not even that "saftey" aspect now

Think he is trying to say that if you don't speed you have nothing to worry about. Want to make them poor f**kers and not make money of us? Don't speed (or don't speed past cars parked on the side of the road :P ) lol

    • Am I correct in assuming that the R35's are getting the classic skyline haircut off the odometer?  Quick search on carsales, there are 33 08 and 09 GTR's for sale, only 2 of them have more then 100,000km's on them (116,075 and 110,000 respectively).  And somehow there are about 25 for sale with around 60,000kms? Looks like the classic skyline haircut to me =/
    • @Stringycheese  Have you only gone to the one blue slip workshop?  There will be a heap of them where ever you live, good odds that the next place you go to will pass the car.  Unfortunately (or fortunately?) every blue slip / engineering workshop will be different and will be happy passing or failing different things - despite working from the same set of rules. It's kinda like 2 lawyers arguing over a piece of legislation, each saying their interpretation is correct. Might seem strange that this happens when it comes to getting a modified car passed, but this is very much a thing. A big part of the game is finding an engineer / workshop that is on the same page as you.
    • Bah. I daily mine. ~60km per work day, 10-12 thousand km per year. What's the point of having a dirty old Datto and leaving it in the shed. It needs to be driven and enjoyed while the govco allows us to do so. It will only be a few years before we're forbidden to even start up internal combustion engines.
    • Judging by that spring perch and the normal looking spring on it - not a coilover. Well.... it is a coilover, just a stock format coilover, rather than what everyone calls a coilover.
    • Yes it is. We get stock from Nismo directly. I'm happy to take photos/video of it as proof before I ship it with timestamps or whathaveyou.
