Thanks for all the support fellas you guys are legends - there's no way that I could replace the car with anything but another Skyline. I was thinking about it all last night - I really should be angrier at the other driver, after all he did almost kill me "not noticing" the lights were Red. But, he'll pay for his mistakes in one way or the other - he had about 6 cops talking to him and only one talking to me. Doesn't that kind of behaviour get in to careless driving charges? Anyway, we're all OK and thats the main thing. Accidents happen. Time to move on...

that was such a mint car... has the insurance company told you yet if its a writeoff or if they'll give you the $$ to fix it? I dunno if it'll be quite the same if you fix it.

I want it to be a write-off, I don't believe it can be repaired to same standard (which was immaculate). I've added a couple more photos - what do you guys think? The roof has buckled in parts.

Also, on the current policy it's insured for 23k, on the renewal next month it's only 18k so it's just the right time. :D

Wow, just looked at the rest of the pics! Yeah 100%. If they don't write it of I'm monkey's uncle :D Just out of curiosity, who are you insured with? Is it agreed or market value? I got $28k market for mine after a lot of fighting. If u need any help let me know.

Justcar, Market Value I think. I should find out today.

Sorry to hear Greg.

I drove from Chadstone to Deer Park last night and saw no less than 8 accidents along the way - heaps of bad driving during the rain, some people should not have a licence if they can't drive in the wet, perhaps the basic licence test should include a SkidPan day?

Good luck with getting T2500 [or similar] on the road :D

Edit, actually the first crash was 2 streets away from my house - chadstone rd, chad shop cntr entrance intersection, a Mirage pointing in the wrong direction with the front half of the car mangled similar to yours...

What is it with people and accidents lately!

Eveyone is getting into prangs!

skylines are cursed melbourne wide I reckon! My mate who bought a 33GTR recently ran up the back of a taxi (nothing to do with speed, etc).. he'd only had it for a month!

p.s. while i'm here, time to hurl abuse from afar: good to see summer is kicking on well for you guys :D

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts

    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
