hey all, ive been doing a bit of research on here via the search function and talking to exhaust places about upping the db on my system, i have a 3" bell, hiflow cat, 3.5 inch catback with hotdog and fujitsubu jasma cannon, the exhaust sounds nice, but, is very quiet due to the jasma cannon, one of the exhaust places recommended xforce for a cannon because they have a 3.5" inlet version (which is what i need) and they are aparently head and shoulders above "Genie" which is what i asked them about to begin with. what do people think about the xforce cannons? who has one? what sort of note dose it give? how loud is it?

im a bit unsure about xforce, but a few people on sau have them and havnt had any issues, but yea, id like a jap brand one, but obviously theyre a lot harder to track down, id settle for an xforce one if they sound the part and are a bit louder than what i have now.

what you guys think?

edit, forgot to mention it was a stock turbo setup

i was under the impression the hotdog only takes away drone?

Nope, I had 2 hotdogs and they only took away the noise from the upper ranges. Idle and drone didn't change much, perhaps just got deeper.

Mate I've got a full 3" X-Force cannon system and apart from some fitment issues with the entire system (i.e. it didn't fit and has been back twice to get re-fitted properly!) it is still pretty good bang-for-buck.

The cannon muffler is a nice piece of stainless steel that looks and sounds the biz. I think they are about 93db when new which is loud enough to keep me happy but not so loud as to attract the wrong type of attention

Their hi-flow cats are good value for low-mid range horse power applications too.

Bascially you can't go wrong for the money and it sounds way better than the jasma crap that was on there previously.

cool mate

im not looking at changing the whole system though, just the end cannon.

yes the jasma thingo inside the cannon isnt the greatest, not sure if it reduces flow but its smaller than the rest of my zorst

Not sure whether you knew but jasma is not a brand, it is a japanese standard for exhausts and a big part of that standard is the noise level so basically they are all pretty quiet and restrictive.

yep i know this, ive heard that the way they design the jasma zorsts dosent restrict flow? is this correct?

yeah i don't think there is too much of a performance hindrance, considering how many people have JASMA-rated systems.

RUFFLS had a back-to-back dyno run done recently with and without his catback exhaust (3.5" fujitsubo, JASMA stamped) and the difference was negligible, 2-3rwkw or so.

yea as i thought

but this isnt for the performance boost, just after some more loudness in the system thats all

Just remove the middle muffler/resonator, it'll be cheaper and you'll retain the decent muffler at the rear.

cannons look crap don't get one. You have a turbo car so most the drone and rasp will be muffled by the turbo anyway.

My HKS Hi Power Silent is JASMA stamped, and i dare say its not quiet, and its def not restrictive haha.

what do you guys think about just getting rid of the middle hotdog? because thats all thats there after the cat, just the hotdog then the cannon. what will that do for sound?

Yeah, it's probably worth giving it a go, rather than spending up on a complete system first. It won't cost much to get an exhaust shop to do it, so not really a big deal if it doesn't deliver the result you want.

My car is running 3" catback, with a single cannon at the end, and it's pretty loud.

    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
