Realy Loud Induction Noise?

hey all, i seem to have a really loud induction noise, it sounds exactly as if im using a pod, but im just using the stock airbox, i hate this because id rather hear the exhaust than the loud fsssshhhhhhhhhhhhh from induction, i dont have the snorkel on, but surely an airbox shouldnt sound this loud... could something be loose somewhere letting air escape? it seriously sounds like a pod (i had a pod on my last r33gtst thats how i know)

check if the piping from the airbox to the turbo is still on the turbo. had an issue with mine where to come off and sound really loud. check all the clips are all on the airbox and the airflow meter bolts that bolt onto the airbox is still on.

check if the filter type you are using

if its OEM it is quiet as

if its an aftermarket K&N style one it is the same as using a pod - ie very open holes and lets lots of noise out

in theory yes, but i have had the exact same setup on my last cars and it was no where near the same loudness, ill check out the piping to the turbo, pretty sure its tight though.

are there any ways to quieten this down? the snorkel dosent fit over the intercooler piping

Check the lid of the airbox and see if it still has the sound-deadening thing in it; I know on my R34 there was this 10x15cm sorta padding thing in the lid which is there to sound-deaden induction noise.

I dont know how the GTST setup is but could this be the reason??

i dont believe the gtr boxes are the same

about the sound deadening, i dont think mine has it, good find! might have to silican some siso batts in there haha
