Hey All

i can't open my drivers side door...

Can you open the door using the internal door handle or is it totally unable to open using both handles? If you can open it, you can remove the door trim and take a photo and that could possibly help us point you in the right direction

-D

hello all, could anyone please tell me,where to buy new radiator for R33 GTS-T auto.

If possible give me some idea about price as well...??

For original try Nissan would be a bit pricey I would say. Also try your local Radiator Supplier/Mechanic, maybe even Natrad, however most people for the money get an Alloy Radiator - ISC, Autobarn, Ebay, SAU Sponsor, etc.

Watch out some automatic cars have trans coolers built into the radiator bottoms !! No idea which skylines except r31 do

and watch out for sensors and places to put them on radiators , 33 have sensors 34 dont ISC radiator has the spot for one but not sure if its the right size or not

I have a 34 radator but no sensor spot for 33 and its a 5 spd model , ( yes i know some of the auto rb engines use external coolers i use one for powersteering lol)

Man thats confusing  now i am stuck in sensors and in trans coolar so anyone, so kind to give me some direction where to go for radiators...

i dont know much about the cars,as i love skyline but dont know much about them.

Always busy working so dont have much time to learn about the cars.so always depend on your kind helpfull advises

Isc a trader here - ryan should be able to help

Or grab a performance car mag , lots of people sell em , change your coolant ( flush ) and do your hoses at the same time

Thermostat as well

just to save chasing your tail doing it twice !!

belts ?

Is it due for big service timing belt etc just do it in one big hit to save labour time

Its a bit of a dodgy fix but works

You need to drain the radiator down below the leak if its the top tank

Dry the area and wipe all around the alloy plastic joint ( prob were its leaking a common problem )

take the two brackets loose holding the radiator , sometimes the top hose has to come off , tip the radiator a tad so you can do both front and back of the tank

Wipe the whole area of the top tank and alloy tabs with a wet metho rag let it dry It needs to be clean

Take some channel lock pliers and a old towel to protect the teeth tearing into anything

You need to flip the channel lock pliers so there upside down use the rag and your going to gently but firmly squeeze the alloy tabs a little at a time all the way around the radiator top tank, use care once it starts to bend it can go too far and break off or just leak worse , just work it slow and a few times around should be fine

Then take black hi temp rtv on your finger and backfill the area completely around the alloy plastic top tank till the alloy and rtv silicone are about even

You may want gloves rtv can give some people a rash ? , smooth the rtv with a water wet finger and wipe off messy areas , let it sit for a few hours depending on temp till its dry , pop on hose and put the two top brackets back on fill up the radiator burp the top and bottom hoses by squeezing them to get rid of air pockets a bit top up all the way and put cap on , turn the heater on hot and fan on low run the car till its up to temp while watching the radiator for leaks ? It should be fixed now ( my old r31 has been this way for 11 years now still perfect ) use proper coolant and dont mix brands except in emergency it will kill the alloy in less then a year

If it still leaks or leaks somewhere else then a quick fix is from sprint auto parts , go in and

Ask for silver solder radiator sealer , comes in a tube and is silver dust so beware , drain a bit of coolant down if needed add the dust to your radiator slowly , rinse it down with coolant or distilled water , wipe the radiator cap area off and put cap on let it run for about 15 min and it should seal just about any leak in the system including head gaskets , heater cores seeping , its always good to carry in your safety kit for the roadside

Its the only one that works without fail , eggs can as well but thats mess haha

the silver solder can be left in long term if required it doesnt seem to harm anything unless your radiator is completely blocked up

Remember to do this with a cold engine to avoid a bath in boiling coolant in the face or trying to find your cap after it shoots into space lol

good luck its pretty easy to do just watch those alloy tabs they break off easy once they start to bend ( very brittle )

Top up your overflow tank just above full and it will suck in the extra once the engine cools a few times , the heater must be one as well or you will get a air pocket and overheat the head

Never run adelaide tap water in your car unless emergency , coolant or distilled only

The heater should blow hot too if not you have a blockage in the hose or heater core and it needs a flush out at min

    • Biggest thing is you're okay!   It sounds like between the accident, and the drive home, it was a pretty torturous trip again! On the bright side, you took the opportunity to enjoy the event more from the perspective of a spectator, than as an entrant!   Sad to see so much damage to the car. It really has taken a HUGE hit in the front end. If/when you choose to repair, hopefully the rails are straight (At least from shock tower backwards). Hopefully the extra cage coming through there has save most of the chassis rails, and HOPEFULLY saved the motor too. Best of luck when you eventually get motivated to start pulling it down to check it all out
    • Sounds more like what Brad said, that it's mainly transfer. What pad bed in procedure did you use, and did you replace/machine the rotors, or just swap pads?
    • The stutter is almost entirely in the pedal. I don't feel the brakes release and reapply as you would with ABS engaging but the pedal feels that way, without the brakes releasing. It only lasts for less than a second and the pedal is fine again. It's hard to explain, sorry.  I'll get under this weekend and just double check everything is tight. Fluid is at max where I left it.
    • What bedding in procedure did you use?   When you say stutter, what exactly do you mean? Like it feels like someone letting go of the brakes momentarily and regrabbing them again to get you to stop? Re-reading your post, and that is what it kind of makes me think you're explaining, like theres a little bit of a jolt, likely just as you're reaching a stop. I've only had this issue once. And if its caused by what caused mine, you will want to get the car up on stands again and check it over. Mine was a case of a caliper mounting bolt coming out and letting the caliper rotate on the other remaining bolt and gave play in a wheel as it came to a stop. But not every stop either!
    • Yeop... binned it   This will be a summary will not many pics atm and cbf  Fixed the samsonas - it was totally munched Put a new precision 7675 T4 on with proper split pulse mani Got to Sydney to get to car - drove to canberra to get racecar - drive back to sydney that night Next day all day at Plasmaman putting on new clamps cleaning some things up and adding another large engine oil cooler sitting at the rear above diffuser to keep things cooler Next day - Tuesday - on Dyno - killer wikid awesome pumped out really good numbers - more mid range and on lower boost levels Wednesday - first prac - all day again getting the suspension right - had to borrow front suspension again - out do a lap come in - out do a lap - in - what i had just couldnt handle the load at the more consistent higher speeds - got a lap in at the end of the day that was pretty reasonable  Put it this way that lap wouldve had me in 4th in Pro am for the whole event - with only 700 hp and used tyres Thurs first official prac day - lap out warm up - then entered a hotlap with above setting and 80% effort took corners 1,2,3 and into 4 car felt awesome -  rear came around out of nowhere bang into the wall near front on at whatever 140 kmph Done, over, gone Just one of those how did that happen apparently as all indications show nothing out of the ordinary Got to spend the rest of the time at the event like I hadnt done before - was actually Ok mainly as I had my family and my boy is 9 and got treated like a rockstar Long trip home, lost a trailer wheel in nowhere land, X5 airbag suspension gave up half way across nullabour and rode on bumps stops (its now completely fine) had to do a 19 hr drive day on day 3 as accommodation got screwed up so just had to keep driving till found a town with some Now to reassess - hopefully the motor and other things are OK but yet to be seen too. There is no easy fix there is no i'll just order that part and get it sent - we'll have a talk to people see what can happen and what the go is but at minimum its rebuild from scratch struts forward and alot of time effort and $ should and if I return and if but maybe/ when  I have the cage tied into the front strut towers - if I didnt have that things couldnt been worse you can say its just a front end but if you know what goes into these cars... you'll know what that actually means in reality   Car was very fast. Disappointing we just didnt get to show it Effort doesnt win you races though     Apparently this is motorsport !
