What sort of structure do you suggest again?
Also, i just realized about your packages. I would change them around so the first package was 6 hrs and the second was 8 hrs. Your ripping yourself off for the quality of work you and i know you can put out.

$150 every hour after also.

Owen thats with a genuine warranty though, its not a grey import  So genuine here is around $3100 i think.

What sort of structure do you suggest again?

Not 8 hr and 10hr and $100 per hour after.

6hr package

Location shoot

Ceremony

Reception

High Res DVD

Two 16x20 enlargements

$1600

8hr package

Location shoot

Ceremony

Reception

High Res DVD

Ten 8x10 prints

Two 16x20 enlargements

$2200

$150per hour after.

Honestly, if i got Ten 8x10's printed and Four 16x20's theres no way i'm making barely any profit for the $300 more you charge than the basic 8 hr you have now. You need to mark up. Your barely making any profit when you think about it.

10 hrs coverage is just throwing away an extra $300.

8 hr coverage is exactly the same.

EXTRAS

Most wedding 'togs i've seen start at 6hr so they can make free cash basically because it will go for longer. That way if it goes for 8 hrs you can try convince the couple to get your 8 hr package and upsell them and get an extra $600 out of it.

I also suggest the 6 hr package only has a "assistant". Not a second shooter. That way you can upsell the 2nd shooter and tell them much more photos will come from that.

Charge them $150 for an E-shoot also as an optional extra.

At the start of next year start offering albums. Of course this depends on what size you use to what you charge, but i suggest marking this up A LOT because this is your biggest seller. This is where you will get the most money from, potentially even more than you charge for the wedding.

Charge them $30p/h for travel fee's as well if its outside of metro sydney e.g. blue mountains/hunter valley/BERRY (haha).

Have an extra thing with the 8 hr or the 6hr package available where you bring some props like umbrellas/random orniments/sunglasses/stupid props for the location shoot. Maybe charge like $25 for that or include in the packages. ONLY INCLUDE IT IN ONE OF THEM.

UPSELL IS VITAL!!!!!!! You are losing way too much money!

Your prices are too cheap for the work you put out. Your client base is increasing and you don't want to get "stuck" in that trap of oh he's really really good and he's really really cheap! You want to get the "He's amazing, and his prices reflect it".

Email me if you want to discuss further.

I don't know much about costing or wedding shoots but I do know the quality of your work is very very HIGH. I've had a few weddings to go to lately, and even had the.... pleasure... of having to look through a couple albums and I thought 'wow, sidds work is heaps better than these'. You're pics are always interesting and your processing is unique and very well done. So, if your pricing has been kept low because you doubt the value of work you offer it's probably time to reassess yourself and your pricing.

Ahhhhhh, your venture into rural wedding photography makes more sense now!

I just went out to the car park and played with the 17-35 AFS(i think) it's nice. it's going to be my weapon of choice next weekend.

Wow you live along way away Owen lol. And you drove back from Texi? Glad nothing went wrong at Texi then!

I'm more helping Sidd out as a 2nd shooter than venturing into wedding photography. Too much work for me!

Gee for someone whos going to be booking a wedding photographer soon this is interesting reading >.>

But seriously, you guys have some of the most amazing shots and you never fail to impress! Its great to have beautiful things to look at while im stuck at in the desert

Kory, thanks for taking your time to write that and providing further feedback. I guess im still in that mind frame that im still a amateur compared to all these other wedding photographers out there. Once i do a few more i will increase it slightly and keep doing it till im happy. I was thinking of providing albums now. Atleast this time i know exactly what to do and will be a lot less stressed. But I want some time to myself as well.. All i do these days is work my normal fulltime job, come home and work on photos and sleep around 12-1am  Anyways enough rambling..

Cheers for the help :P

Will talk to you soon in person about this more..

Anyways where are the pics on this page??

Here's a couple of pics Sidd.

Fresh off the camera, taken about half hour ago.

These are straight from camera, with the exception i added the headlights on a different layer in the first pic and combined two layers in the 2nd one. (lit different parts of car) No further processing.

This 2nd one makes a mad wallpaper too

Nice shots matt!

Liking the second one for sure.

guessing this was the light painting as i can see the cool blue throughout the cars reflections, looks nice! Should try this with a white car and see if the blue is shown in the paint?

Sidd - Talk to you via email about it tomorrow. I'm in the same boat as you also. Work all day, come home, work on photos all night sleep at 1am. It sucks, but it doesn't. In time, it shall pay off. And dammit, stop saying you'll do a few more and then increase. JUST DO IT NOW!!! You told me that like 6 months ago!! Haha.

Sidd, its an led box I made myself in a large soft box, creates a really unique light. I need to modify the box so its easier to move now.

Kory on a white car you can shift the wb if you wanted to remove the colour.

Pez, I'm sure we can work something out. The reflections we'd get off your rims would be erection inducing.:) pm me your location.

    • What copper washer do you guys use on the bleeder bolts? The existing one I have I had no idea where to find it in a local store, I did buy some online but that are only 1mm thick whereas my old one is 2mm+ thick and when I put the new washer out and squeeze the top radiator hose I can hear a bit of air but not with the old one. Does this matter? The new one doesn't leak, but the inner diameter is a bit loose whereas the old one threads on the bolt.
    • Howdy all, after being out a few weeks ago on a spirited drive in my GTR I have 2 issues that oddly have appeared at the same time. Whilst accelerating quickly through the gears all of a sudden i’ve lost power at the top of third gear (below redline around 6000rpm) for no obvious reason.    From that point onwards the car has been running rich on idle, won’t really rev under load without a ton of black smoke and the odd backfire, and dying as a pull up to a set of lights unless I keep the revs up around 1500rpm. In addition when shutting down the car that same night (I was 10 minutes from home) I noticed one of the turbos was significantly noisy on wind down when shutting off the engine. After letting the car cool down overnight it starts up fine, although once it gets to temp the revs start to creep up and down, the exhaust is darker than it should be and it also sounds like it’s running rich (fat note) I’ve put a new set of plugs in it - no change, the old plugs all seemed OK with two of them being somewhat richer/fueled up than the other 3 with 1 being borderline. I’ve smoked tested the intake system via the front of the Turbos, found a split vacuum hose going to the factory boost gauge sender, which I have since replaced.  Also found another leak on the gasket coming off the rear turbo outlet, have also replaced this. After fixing both of these leaks - still have the running rich issue. I’ve also tried another pair of AFM’s - no change here After pulling off the front turbo intake pipes, there is obvious shaft play in the front turbo, which now hisses loudly on light revvs although I can’t see why this would make the car run funny even under idle. I’m curious to know why it’s running rich before I potentially replace/rebuild turbos. The car is completely stock <50,000kms  other than an exhaust. Oil and coolant are all clear. I haven’t bothered with coil packs as it looks like they won’t be the issue due to condition of the plugs. Any help appreciated as I cry myself to sleep!
    • No probs at all. I used to love trying to dig up obscure info for those in need where possible going back 20+ years on SAU.  I did have another look and couldn't come up with any closer match. I'm leaning towards those skirts in your first pic are custom fitments, cut down/extended or from another car entirely and modded to fit an R34 sedan. I would've thought someone in Japan had them and taken a photo at some stage over the last 2 decades but there's nothing. Someone out there must know surely.
    • Welcome mate. Any pics? Even with a DE I'd be well happy if I had that as a 1st car.
