Hi all

I'm new to the forum and a new Skyline owner, ive tried looking for some info using the search function but havent got a definite answer.

Can anyone help me confirm definitely what size the rear parcel speakers will fit for a series 2 R33 GTST?

Thanks!

If they are the same size as the Series 1, you should have no dramas fittinf 6 to 6 1/2 inch speakers in the whole. You may need to modify the plastic thingy a little.

Should help.

hi welcom to SAU i hope u hang around. the more the merrier.

well im not 100% but i think its 6" for a direct replacement it might be a idea to pull out the plastic mout to make selecting a speaker easer.

Thanks all for the advice and help.

Anybody ever tried custom mounting 6x9s in the rear parcel? or is it wishful thinking ...

it can be done i did it but its not a easy job.

ur going to have to re make the parcel shelf out of MDF or put some gay ass spacers.

u will find that the guys that are into there audio think there a wast but each to there own opinion.

how to build a parcel shelf take out the old one place it on top of some MDF trace then check to make sure it matches. then cut with a jigsaw but a little bigger. now with a electric sander or angle grinder shape the wood so it fits good. drill out the holes for speakers and for mounting the shelf. test fit. cover in carpet and i recommend bedding over lay on the under side for a nice fit. now instal and ur done.

note using T nuts and bolts will make ur life a hole lot happier when re fitting stuff after applying the carpet

Here is a photo of my 12" sub in the boot. I have lost no space. Just make up a template with cardboard. The sub wouldnt go anywhere else. Then I traced the template onto some MDF then carpeted and put sub in. Also the amp is hidden behind the sub aswell.

That's awesome ducati, did you have to remove the strut to fit the mdf board in?

My sub is just sitting in the boot taking up over 50% of useable space...

Yes I just removed the 2 bolts either side. Its a pain if I have to get to the battery I just carry a shifter to undo the bolts if needed.

6' for direct replacement or get 6.5 with slot holes

    • Yes, I know🙄 but the sequential is not in my budget... don't want to reduce power neither, so looks like I'm stuck in the rabbit hole🤣
    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.

    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
