Realistically, they can do whatever they like. It is your word against theirs.

To get behind that trim piece, you can simply undo the screws holding it in behind the ash tray and above the speedo. From memory the rest of it is clipped in. Be careful though, it is fairly easy to crack. You also unclip the gearboot and there are a couple of screws for it under there too. Logic will prevail with this one if you take your time..

Best bet is to feed it into the glove box, that was its reasonably out of the way and you can still get to it. Generally if they actually look in your glove box you are up the creek anyway, yet having it there will minimize the attention.

You do realize it wont be hidden now that you've told everyone where it is... ;)

May as well just hide it in your ashtray like normal people..

Are cops allowed to physically touch any parts of the car?

Ive heard they can even touch your bum :blink:

I've been pulled over and they have looked at the car while I've done a RBT and then let go with no problems. But then again I don't use the road as a burn out pad or a race track.

So wanting to hide it is sort of suspicious???

not sure where u come from , but being defected every time you move isn't very fun.

and when cops look for a boost controller they would usually look from the engine bay and look for vac lines running all over the place

people usually use coloured shiny vac lines they buy from autobarn etc so its easy to spot

use blank simple lines and try to make it look oem. but the vac lines always run to a solenoid of some sort, so thats the easiest way to find it with the controller hidden or not

i want to hide it inside the dash/steering wheel/console area, how do i "unclip" it to get in there?

In my R32 I cut the ass out of the ashtray and mounted it inside there, when you flip it open it looks very tidy. Hid the solenoid underneath my AFM so that you need to unbolt the entire POD assembly to be able to even see it, no cop is ever going to find it.

All the wires and vac hoses are cable tied underneath it as well.

    • The chart of front pressure to rear pressure (with one being on the x axis and the other being on the y axis) is not a straight line on a typical proportioning valve. At lower pressures there is a straight line with one slope, and at higher pressures that changes to a lower slope. That creates a bend in the line at that pressure, called the knee point. If you do not change the proportionng as the pressure gets higher, you will suffer excessive pressure (at one end of the car or the other, depending on which way you look at the proportioning action) and then get lockups at that end. The HFM BM57, from my memory of previous discussions, is based on the BM57 from a different car (to a Skyline), with a different requirement for the location of the knee point and the distribution of pressure front to rear, and so is not a good choice for an upgrade on a Skyline. Here's a couple of links to some old posts, one from here, one from elsewhere. A lot of it pertains to adjustable prop valves, but the idea is the same.     • Yeah dunno why johhny posted that here with no context, just post on FB/insta bro where he put it up?  Laine had an off at T4 during Thurs prac, he's ok, car is less than perfect, they are done for the weekend, he can fill in the rest. Bando also binned it like 100m up the road.
