bozodos
well sparkies don't get any more than most trades as apprentices, well at least here they don't, nor do they have a higher rate of pay for adult apprentices unlike nearly every other trade. I'm surprised that a shop like Sabbadin would even have to advertise on a forum, would have thought they would get dozens of people dropping off resumes etc. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/337069-apprentice-opportunity/#findComment-5453523 Share on other sites

SS8_Gohan
I'm surprised that a shop like Sabbadin would even have to advertise on a forum, would have thought they would get dozens of people dropping off resumes etc. well, if you were looking for an apprentice for a speciality workshop (like Sabbadin is), why not try and pick-up one that already knows their way around the majority of cars that are worked on? All credit to them as well for coming on here to let people know, i'm sure the spot will be filled easily but if it can get to an import enthusiast who's already familiar with the cars, it's a win win really. bozodos
dezz: got a mate who's a sparky apprentice at 24, and he gets paid junior wages. Could be wrong, but that's up to him to chase up if it is! pretty damn lucrative as a tradesman though! true that SS8_Gohan, hope one of our fellow forumers gets the job Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/337069-apprentice-opportunity/#findComment-5455388 Share on other sites

dezz
total BS though, how could anyone want to work for like 8 dollars an hour over the age of 21 that's only the award rate though...EBA is where it's at Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/337069-apprentice-opportunity/#findComment-5456326 Share on other sites
bozodos
haha man.. i don't know of a single apprentice or trainee around here who gets paid above award rates apart from when my mate was doing his traineeship directly through Cummins. Purely because there are 50+ applicants for every one of these jobs Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/337069-apprentice-opportunity/#findComment-5456335 Share on other sites
dezz
Well I guess you wouldn't have many EBA sites up there...unlucky... My mate made something like $45-$50k first year.... Do-Luck
EBA rates are the only payment method I'd chose as an electrician. My last two jobs I was getting payed above award (which still wasn't a good pay mind you), however ever since moving to my current company, I'm raking in the dollars. Plus you get perks such as a 36 hour week Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/337069-apprentice-opportunity/#findComment-5456687 Share on other sites
bozodos
oh I don't know all the ins and outs for the tradies themselves, most seem to be making quite a bit of coin, however 99% of apprentices and trainees are through labour hire companies who never pay more than base award rate lol Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/337069-apprentice-opportunity/#findComment-5458330 Share on other sites
