Check the reply brah, has handy links in it.

More or less, keep any emails and text messages you've received from him discussing the sale, then take the information to wherever it needs to go. Go down the legal path, because you can get them especially given the information you have on them.

Make sure to give them the heads up first, so they have the opportunity to give you your money back.

hehe no worries. Read enough stories about this shit....facts and proof will prevail man. Any receipts of payment via bank transfer, all copies of discussion and agreements, etc. Tell him you're going to make the assumption he has no intentions on delivering his side of the agreement, and what he is doing is illegal (chuck in the word fraud if you want, I'm not actually sure what kind of law he's breaking though so this might be the wrong word). Make sure you make it clear that you WON'T pursue the matter any further if he promptly refunds you your money - but if he does not contact you to discuss this immediately, you will take matters further with legal action.

Hell, even if you technically couldn't do shit against him, it all comes down to how you present your argument. Thankfully in this case, I'm 99% sure he's up shit creek.

just wondering, if the bidding was starting at $100 why did you ask for an off ebay sale price (it actually ended with 0 bids anyway)? Did you pay via paypal or bank transfer?

hate to add more, but his feedback score is also only 90.9%... when you click into it there are 2 negative feedback scores from 2009

  • Paid for item and never received, poor seller communication , bad ebayer - SR20DET coilpack cover (#250508441586)
  • slow delivery, no web cam, Password protected, power issue, all round crap - Compaq C700 (#250475610462)

the positive feedback score underneath them also list "deliveries very slow, poor communication"

I don't want to sound rude, but i think you should maybe play it safe and check this stuff out next time before you make a deal.

Thanks for the advice Troy.

As for Tom,

I paid via bank transfer.

I had been searching for trims for a long time, wanted them asap for the 21st bday

cruise as mine were hacked previously for speakers, so I immediately jumped on them,

As I am an ebay and overall online purchasing rookie, I looked past the small details, and

rushed into the sale, I made the purchase unaware that someone would rip me off over $140,

I now realise that I made a mistake and have seen the feedback etc.

I am trying to find the right avenue to sort this shit out, have gathered the information I have and

plan on handing it to someone that can do something about it.

Unfortunately I've lost all trust now and will be wary of handing money over, I have learnt my

lesson now though I guess.

Your response to the situation is far from constructive, unlike Troys, so I am assuming

that you do mean to be rude.

Ebay can be a big pita at times but at least if you use them and pay via paypal they'll actually support you in terms of getting your money back.

I've been an ebayer for a long time (I am the shopping master :( ) and I've only had issues once but I had the full support of ebay behind me when I had to take it further and even though the amount was small I did get it back.

Yeah unfortunately I can blame nothing but my rookieness for gettin me in this mess,

Won't make the same mistake again :)

Its a fairly small amount, but an amount none the less, just wish I had my trims :(

Thanks for the advice Troy.

Being wary of handing over your folding stuff is a good thing though.

ebays great, just have to realise that in the auto part of it everyones a flamin mongrel and you'll be right. :D

on a side note, i have some door trims if you want. accept my offer,I lives in Darwin and i am selling this as a gift for my dad..I am not in the state presently to complete the transaction locally,I am only interested in working with serious legitimate buyers. Because of so many scams I accept payment via paypal ONLY.If you are comfortable with that please email me back your pay pal email address and name to set up purchase. If you don't have a paypal account set up,please kindly log on to www..paypal.com.au and set it up,i will arrange for pick up after the payment sorted.

P.S im on a oil rig. so my big hairy russian friend will deliver the wheels to your house. when will you be home, and how long for?

Thanks for the advice Troy.

Nathan,

I'm sorry if my response came across as rude, i was just trying to find out some details. Like Kat, I have been a regular user of eBay as i regularly buy and mostly sell items on the site. I'm only relaying information that you would already know now, but as a few others have said it is best to buy and sell through paypal as opposed to bank transfers. Paypal protects you for online purchases of up to $20,000 so if someone does happen to try and rip you off, you'll either get your money back from the seller or Paypal will pay you the money. It's also best to buy from sellers with feedback no lower than about 98% on average as anything lower than that is actually quite rare (i.e. they are a bit dodgy). I now understand why you decided to try and make the purchase off the site which is completely understandable, my mistake for jumping the gun. The best thing to do would be to contact eBay about him and they will more than likely ban his account as well as do their best to organise getting your money back, but eBay can also come across a bit rude as i did, because they will more than likely give you the usual talk of "we encourage you to only purchase items through the site with paypal blah blah..." Apologies again for my above comments.

cheers, tom

Ok cool, i understand, as i said i will be wary in the future and recent events have opened my eyes to finer details that

i definately need to pay attention to :)

As for an update on the situation. I sent a text to him yesterday explaining that the matter will be reported to the police,

about an hour ago i received a text message.

"it is being sent off today"

Not sure if it was the FB message to his girlfriend, or the threat of police action.

Lets just hope its for real and this mess can end. I politely asked for the toll consignment number and he said that he will

get it for me.

Yeah I do, don't know if its real though, and dont want to post it here, will probably get in

shit for it.

Ill see how everything pans out, if all goes well I should have them in a few days to a week,

If not I will let you know.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
