How long do we have to get entries in? My stanza is off the road getting an L20B but time to finnish screwing it all together is sparse. I'm hoping to have it ready within a couple of months because I have to finnish painting my r31 thats sitting in the shed first. Too many projects, not enough time.

Does the car have to be road registered? Myself and two friends have built a supercharged gemini for motokarna / autocross events. We would like to learn some contol on this vehicle before entering into serious events. Can this vehicle be entered? We can make it appear to be road registered!

Also would like a rough Idea on how this event is filling up? When is the latest I can enter? (Yes I know earlier is better)

Sending my cheque and form tomorrow....

In regards to accomodation: I may be able to offer free squatting to anyone with a tent and sleeping bag on a friends block of land. This is in Merchison 1/2hr drive from Shep. I will be there, but will still hit the 'saloons' of Shep on Sat night with you guys!

Also, I've been to the skidpan/drags but never had the car on the track before. Will there be any form of tuition for beginers (ie instructors giving pointers etc)? And the main concern; is there much of a chance that I could completely fark my car up (not that I plan to go too hard)?

INASNT & riggaP: There are plenty of spots left and you can enter by PM'ing me your e-mail address.

As previously stated, this is NOT a training day. This day is designed to have fun with your car and is NOT a race/track day. But i am sure that if you ask other entrants who are more experienced, like Andrew (snowman), they would be able to give you some basic pointers.

There is always a chance to fark up your car, just like any other cruise. On the GOR you have the armco's (metal barriers) on one side and a cliff face on the other. At Macedon you had trees barely 2 feet from the road, on either side. Not to forget the amount of crap (mud, dirt, loose stones, branches, leaves, etc, etc.) on these roads. But has anyone farked up their cars, no because they drive within their limits. At DECA there are trees near the short track, but you would have to loose it pretty damn hard to hit them. There are other events on the day that utalise the massive skid pan, it is hear that you can go all out without fear of hitting anything.

JUST REMEMBER WE ARE ALL THERE TO ENJOY THE DAY AND HAVE A GREAT TIME.

1. Not sure. Current count is about 40.

2. Not sure what you are asking hear, but the day is planned to be a fun relaxing day for the entrants, with no pressure to become competitive.

3. You wouldn't ask such a question if you had ever run an event as big as this. Venue hire, insurance, flyers, club notifications, time tables, bbq, drinks, track layout, etc....

4. Car with a full tank of fuel, money for accomodation, food, etc., and whatever else you take on a cruise.

  • 3 weeks later...

Finally got my receipt back after 4 weeks. I was getting worried their for a second.

Al, I Was wondering if their would be time to change rear tyres between events. For example I would like to put crap tyres on for the skidpan and good semi comps for the circuit etc.

Let me know.. I should have a small pit crew to help.

Thanks Jarrod, saved me the trouble :)

Sorry about the delay , unfortunately i have nothing to do with the financial side of things.

Well i am bringing up my four stockies as i do not wish to wear out my 19's at $500 a corner. :)

So i hope there is time, but alot of people will be doing the same thing, so there should be enough time.

LAST MINUTE ENTRYS ARE STILL GOING TO BE ACCEPTED AT THE GATES. SO IF ANYONE ELSE HAS NOT REPLIED TO THIS POST JUST ENTER AT THE DECA GROUNDS.

I am about to leave, so i will not log on till i come back.

If you wish to contact me just call my mobile: 0427076490.

PS: My company phone is bared from SMS'ing, so i will not be able to respond to any SMS messages.

C YA THERE!

Alan

    • Don't be ridiculous. "2-3 ugga duggas or one Oof. You have to use Oof on tie rods because you can't get an ugga dugga on there." Is not helping the guy at all.
    • I have done a lot of research before posting here and on gtruk forum. couldn't find anything. I have my gauges all part except the needle itself. the needle has a extremely small hole in the center, but the shaft going to the needle is extremely small and appears to have nothing to index it either. doesn't seem strong enough to simple pry or pull without damaging something. Already tried the old spoon trick on a extra triple meter I have from a gtt, but no luck. the center cap comes off easily but the hole in the meter face plate aren't big enough to get over the needle itself. figured this would be my best place to find someone who might have actually removed theirs. wonder if there is some type of small pin press tool to push the pin in while pulling the needle base off.
    • Ok...its taking me long enough to finally do this.  Feck financial security...heart disease will get me soon enough anyway So welcome to the garage..."Clem" Belsil80 has been running a 370Z in Super TT series. So after entering with him in last years Winton 300 i figured I  need my own car. Seems SAU Vic race cars need to be yellow....{tick} Reckon with enough motor i will be able to make up for the lack of talent and stay ahead of the 370Z... but the LS powered S13 and E36s are a ways up the road Aim is to have a car that doesnt stop or turn but has a bit of shed built motor with jam...maybe some cream  First step is getting this ex drift car log booked I am keeping faithful silver car. As the road-club car gets upgrades the race car wil get the sloppy seconds
    • Assuming that they will come off without damage at all.... i would have thought just pull straight up off the spindle with a something or other than can reach underneath. Have you searched for youtube vids of people doing similar on R34s or any other Nissan from the same vintage? They should be the same technique, in all likelihhood.
    • Keeping in mind that sandblasting is really aggressive on softer metals like cast alloy, and you can do damage that you might regret. For trash wheels, not a problem. For wheels with value/scarcity issues, etc.... perhaps a less aggressive media is a better choice?
