keep the info commin ;) another quick question whats the go with the little arial on the front of some stags? also anyone in canberra have a m35 :) seen one gettin around and a couple of c34's

Arial is just to let the driver know where the passenger front corner is instead of guessing/estimating

If it is a silver M35 in Canberra, it could very well be Houdini's.

Edward Lee's? Almost got sucked into buying a 180sx from them early last year, came to my senses before spending the money though.

So many bad stories about a lot of the places on parramatta road though, most of them are as bad as each other.

Spot on. I bought an S13 silvia from them about 10 years ago. Didnt miss a beat. Was the most reliable car ive owned, even more reliable than my accord euro! They even fixed a problem that could have gone either way. So i went back.

This M35............. they couldnt appear to care less. Im keeping the car but ill get it fixed at my own cost as there is less hassle and i dont have to deal with the dopes that work there. last time i spoke to an ex-employee there, a lot of the old staff members had left. smart move!

In my opinion, if you are happy with the power now, don't put bigger wheels in it, unless you have plans to install an Emanage down the track. Otherwise you will gain lag and bugger all extra power. These boats are laggy enough already with the crappy throttle ramp and ecu protection.

just took the m35 out for a proper night run with its new HDI fmic.. goes well.

I actually thought the vq25dets were alot slower than 4.0litre auto xr6 turbo fords.

I raced one to 100 from the lights at the entrance of the freeway and stayed a car length ahead the whole time. I was honestly suprised.

The guy followed me all the way to the off ramp then signalled to wind down my window and said "whats in that?"

I was tempted to say "volvo power!" then just boot it. but i said "VQ25DET" and he just scoffed.. i wonder if he knew what it was?

ahh i love this car.

*evil laugh*

Seller states it's an AR-X in the title. I thought the AR-X had flared plastic wheel arches, 18" wheels and higher ride height. That one doesn't.

I see it's listed as an RS-250 Four further down.

always has me worried when the seller doesnt know what there selling however in the description of car says its an rs with ar-x interior so maybe just did it to get atention to that detail?

I have a Ba non turbo at moment but my cousin has a xr6t and if these can keep up with them

- RS Four so it won't have dual climate control (RX, ARX and Axis did though)

- Does look like it has the safety pack (6 airbags)

- I would enquire as to what "low km's" are as the rear leather seats look quite used (I have the same leather interior) although they do crease easily if the seats are folded down a lot of the time.

- May not have HICAS either due to being an RS, but this may have been an option on the RS - can't remember

$16,800 with 12 months rego and 3yr parts and labour Australia wide sounds good.... just make sure it covers the turbo :P... and that they service the transmission with the correct fluid (Nissan Matic J) as dextron III compatible fluids with destroy your transmission very, very quickly

that one in the drive.com.au link is a 250t RS FOUR

no aircon vents in the rear means RS.

good to hear your car is quick with a few mods keir :P

Yeha i was suprised as he was .. being a ute against the 2T wagon.. but someone did tell me the xr6T utes are alot slower than the sedans and not much lighter..so not sure.

:P

As long as you have the Google Toolbar installed and setup to translate Jap to English,(or something similar), I've found this site to be invaluable for the various spec levels and options available for M35's from 2001 through to 2007.

no series 1 M35 has dual zone climate control dude. series 2 i cant comment.

HICAS was an option on RS and AXIS (i think), always fitted to ARX and was not an option on RX. Same as LSD AFAIK.

Really? Series 2 definitely has dual zone, but I thought that the ARX had it... oh well, there you go.

I don't have dual Climate control in mine... Another Stagea abnormality! Who knows... doesn't bother me!

edit- but i do have steering wheel controls for stereo and phone(!)

Have a 2002 ARX - thats Series 1 isn't it? Has dual zone climate control and the works. Only missed out on the cruise control - as my son said when he handed back the keys - good luck keeping your licence without it! (Do a fair bit of hwy driving)

    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
