if it's all stock you could maybe get away with a 5, probably leaning towards too hot though.

Yeah pretty much esp with stock coils to use the BCPR6ES as yeah you get better contacts, also VL Turbos run them so out here in the boonies at least I know I can get them just about anywhere. You could probably use the -11 (denotes 1.1mm vs 0.8mm gap) given you have it pretty stock.

okay, taped up the packs and put the new plugs in and yeah. same shit

so im gona buy new packs :P

pics of plugs...

bottom plug is 1st piston etc etc

sorry about the quality.

now the 4th plug has a sticky residue on it.. fuel?

Why didn't you try the coilpack elimination first like I said? Now you've gone and wasted your money on plugs and it didn't solve it...

Add learn to read the whole thread to your list of things to do, including losing your virginity Mohsen :)

ehh, adds to the learning curve

boz- they all have commos on chopped springs haha

anyway, buying an ignitor off a fellow forum member :) read on another forum a guy had the exact same problems as me and it was the ignitor.

Edited by Mohsen

if you're not getting it for bugger all, then it's stupid to replace shit if you don't know that it's that causing the problem. I'm sure anywhere in the northern 'burbs you can find a mechanics with a beat up R32 out the front to swap parts from lol

coil pack 1 is farked!

tried putting some silicone (again from the coilpack thread) to see how it goes and yeah, nothing.

any chance its the ignitor playing up?

what happens when you swap coil pack one and two then do the coil pack elimination thing that Birds suggested? does the miss move to where you put the suspected dud coil pack? If so it aint your ingnitor

this stuff is pretty easy you just need to use logic to isolate the broken bit

you dropkick i told you last night in vic wasteland to investigate the igniter!

He doesn't listen mate! I say let him spend his money lol.

Could be the loom plug for cylinder one, ignitor...or fuel related.

okay guys

ignitor arrived

swapped it in

small improvement overall but still nothing in cylinder 1!!!!!!11

i took out the loom and had a good look at it, seems the actual plugs have deteriorated. will get it checked out tomorrow and post up the results

You are such a twit! I'm surprised you didn't just buy a new engine and cut out the middleman. I understand what you said about the learning curve but yours is more like a quadratic.

birds, im narrowing it down.

checked out my loom properly, looks like plug 1 was crushed internally. so i cleaned it out. will try and connect the - connectors to the + ones on the coil packs when i get home

if it isnt that

then ill move onto injectors.

    • I can see between the water jacket and cyl 3 there wasn't a hard line of combustion gas. It certainly appears that the issue is coming from there. Yes, checked the tension. All at 100ft lbs where I set them 5 years ago. These blocks can crack but generally when they have been over bored. Mine is only 0.5mm oversize at 89.5mm. They break between cylinders around the 91mm mark. No sign of that with mine. My gut feeling is the head gasket lifted a while back when the studs stretched and i bandaided it by retorquing the studs. It's finally let go.
    • My Nismo 1.5 churps a bit on reverse turns when cold, but besides that feels like a stock diff.
    • Yes, but, I paid cash and I'm pretty sure the receipt was in the bin 10 minutes after I got home Note to self, keep all receipts
    • Bunnings would have just handed you your money back on that one!
    • So, version 4 intake is on its way I was looking at these a while ago but at around $200 or more it was a little pricey for something that might not work, but, I had it in my watch list, but, I got a message saying it was on special, and I had a code thingie to use, it eventually came in at $120 delivered, so BAM, BUY NOW.....LOL I'll need to have a look when it arrives but I feel it will "look" better than what I currently have, as it comes with a PCV fitting, so I will be able to get rid of the alloy pipe that goes to the throttle body with the PCV fitting  Well, that's what the voices in my head are telling me  Oh, and this happened today Yeap, it was a Trojan, and it was cheap, so I headed back to the hardware store and actually spent a little bit more on a heavy duty,  one that was actually recommended by a plumber mate, a Cyclone one with a fibreglass handle that is actually rated for clay The broken shovel will eventually be "modified" into a short handle shovel
