I was using "Armor All Wheel Cleaner" (http://www.armorall.com/prodcat/pages/whee...eaner_2.21.html) on my Rims... I did exactly what the direction said.. I hosed down my rims, then I sprayed the 'wheel cleaner' on and left it for 60 seconds... then used a high pressure hose to clean it. Then, as it dries up, I see white stains on my rims... can't seem to get them off... do any of you guys/gals know how to get rid of this stain?

btw.. I aint never gonna buy cleaning products for my car EVER again

Before use, test on an inconspicuous area. If hazing or spots appear, discontinue use. Do not apply to brake parts or other zinc and cadmium-plated surfaces

Dont know if it comes off...but i only use Meguires Rim Cleaners there are like 3 differernt types for different types of rims aloy/crome/clear coat etc. Hope fully it isnt too serious.

Yeah, I tried Eagle 1 aluminum cleaner. It worked great, but ate away all the polished surfaces! So I had to spend another hour on the rims with good old Autosol. Problem is, my rims have aluminium sand cast surfaces and they absorb brake dust like a sponge.

I know how you feel, exactly the same thing happened to me with that stuff! It eventually faded away after a while.

The Armour All product discolours aluminium, I used it on my AC Cobra rims and they went all white stained and scummy.

AutoSol is the god, but the stain my go too deep, time to send them off to be machine polished or refurbished. Laquered or un lacquered aluminium is bad new with that product.

I use Auto Glym on my wheels but hey are painted alloys not polished.

Good luck with the clean up my heart goes out to you.

I'm hoping that it will fade away...

I also used Mineral Turbintine, but with no success in removing the stains..

How long did it take b4 it started to fade away? A couple of weeks, months?

nuthin beats warm water and soap....trust me i used to b a manager of a car detailing place....we used all different products and and nuthin worked like warm soapy water...

Agreed :headspin:

I have used some Meguirs stuff but that was for chrome wheels on the inside for shows...

i have used that acid free meguiars wheel cleaner - just spray it on and wait 30sec and hose off... not too bad, but i have run out so i have been using the soapy water that i have been cleaning the car with to clean them. then after i have dried them use windex for a streak free finish...

    • Resizing injectors in Nistune can be done a couple of ways, and there are a couple of ways that you can make a mess of it. The tuner needs to be really aware of the effects of whichever approach he uses (either K, or TIM). They are both easy enough to "get the injector size right" to run the engine. But little details like old start enrichment and hot start are affected differently, depending on which boxes you check.
    • Pretty safe to say almost everyone that has tuned their own car has experienced this issue. The difference being that we have our laptop in the car and when it happens, it's literally 10 seconds of tuning to sort it.  Would you be happy to plug in your laptop and sort this yourself? It is a very simple process and there is no risk of harming your engine (if you are worried about that).
    • Yeah thats the next step now, either they wil or i will take out for a drive to work and go straight their after work and see is we get the same issues 🤞  thought i try my luck here too, never know someone else might have had the same issue but thanks for the reply
    • Basically your tuner needs to drive it for the 30 min (or whatever) to create the same conditions then check the ECU settings and sensors at that time. They may not be excited to because that takes them 30 min rather than just opening the bonnet and seeing the problem straight away.... Hot start is generally not as tricky as cold start, but there would be a table for fuel enrichment vs coolant temp as a starting point
    • Yeah, they all cant say anything for sure as everything is working fine . Said unable to find an issue untill it stops again. Could mist likely be CAS wiring or IAS valve issue but again not 100%
