the weather wasn't the best, but it certainly made for an interesting weekend!

we started the day with a run through the black spur and it's usual flinders st 5pm traffic jam, followed by a quick lunch at the Marysville bakery

after this we headed off towards mt buller and the weather decided to take a turn.

driving up the mountain with the roads completely soaked made for an interesting yet amazingly fun drive!

upon arriving at the lodge we all started to attack the ample supply of alcohol we had brought with us, and out came the nerf guns!

had some bread/dips/chips etc @ around 5pm and dinner @ 7:30 and i think we went to bed sometime around 3am?

anyway, had a great time playing drunk jenga and nerf wars!

big thanks to all for helping with the cleanup this year! it really makes all the difference!

also a huge thanx to merowyn!

I had a absolute ball and would like to say thanx to all that attended and helped make it such an awesome weekend!

cant wait for the photo's !

see you all next year :ermm:

Massive Thanks to Ham and Merowyn! next time Mel you can just kick back and relax, you were always cleaning should trade that sponge for a beer!

photo's shortly!

so tell me more about the trip home?

we had the crap scattered all over the mountain when we left, hit a few branches and rocks but no damage... but after brunch at the bottom of the hill it was smooth cruising all the way down the hume

i think this may turn into we got reamed thread we all got pulled over by 2 bike cops just out of yarra glen for the usual licence and rwc checks..they had a very quick look at my car and i was out of there(lucky volvo driver)...caught up with samatrix down the road and said there was a few unhappy faces with the police still he was lucky got held up through the spur..

Any way thanks hamish for the weekend and the indoor bbq was good to meet a few more people from sau vic and the nurf guns supplied hours of entertainment just wished that bloody rain and wind held off for more than 5 minutes

will be back again next year and looking forward to a few of the photos

Thanks you Hamish for organising the cruise, although we didn't get any runs on the mountain, it turned out to be a different type of awesome fun at the lodge :ermm:

And also thanks for everyone that helped clean up throughout the trip

charles loved getting woken up by a nurf gun then cleaning duties...and everyone forget that birds was still there and we all left without him except T.J

I blocked all 20 or so shots from you guys with my blanket, then afterwards, Dave decided to reload and shot me in the nose at point blank range lol

By the way, really want to say thank you to Charles for the ride and to Hamish and Merowyn for the organisation of the weekend.

It's all good  Thanks for keeping me company for the trip! :ermm:

And here's a screenshot of my weather app on my iphone, we were dealing with 2.8 degrees:

    • Yep that's pretty much what I want to see. Racecars that look and sound like the Group A but with newer tech underneath to make them faster and safer. I'm sure there's enough VK-to-VN commodore, E30 BMWs and Foxbody mustangs shells around to make up a decent number of cars with hopefully a couple of sierras, rx7 and R31s in there too.
    • Contact Jessestreeter.com/Skevas Racing/JustJap for a new r34 rb gearbox or go a cd00# conversion. No point playing with unknown condition gearboxes.
    • Such a shame places like Amaroo Park have been redeveloped, smaller tracks always make for good racing. Cheers for sharing @PranK there's some good Lakeside video's too. Its so hard with older the cars as parts are so rare and everything was made for a particular chassis at that point in time. Even the V8 Supercar Blueprint era cars are all different between each chassis within a team as they learnt things and made improvements. The COTF cars between each Chassis builder is different too especially motor/oil systems/intakes. The Group A stuff is worth so much too especially chassis with good history. The only way to do it would be composite panels and similar engine drivelines to the original cars. Ford sierra running Focus RS driveline, Commodore running a short stroke LS/LT or a Falcon with coyote and a H Pattern dog box. Could use a standard ecu across all models with a Torque Map and DBW for parity which is not even used in Supercars currently. Hell a TCM is almost a full chassis car these days and the suspension is not even close to standard style in the front running cars.
    • Dashcams Australia (13/05/25) captured JDMHSE (Vic plate) being a right tosser.
    • Wish someone would start a racing series for Group A replica cars, a bit like Touring Car Masters but for 1985 onwards and not grandpa's falcon and/or Monaro. I know they race in some historic class but that's for original cars, no replicas allowed.
