Car Shaking At 100km And Over

Ok I got sum second hand rims last week there 17s like my old set except wider, had no issues driving with them in all speeds except today everytime I drove over 100kmh the car shook really violently and as soon as it dropped down from 100 to the 90s was smooth again, any ideas on wat could be the issue?

I'd say the wheels just need a proper balance.

Thanx guys will get another alignment done, the tyres are second hand so could be them too I guess

my mate had a similar problem in his s15. We put new tyres on and gave the wheels a balance and it fixed the problem.

If the car is shaking, the rear wheels are out of balance.

If the steering wheel is shaking, the front wheels are out of balance.

But balance them all, because second hand tyres can (as you alluded to) be the problem - 'out of round' etc!

If the car still shakes after all the above is done and the car is at constant speed (ie not accelerating or decelerating), the tailshaft may need to be checked.

definetely sounds like you have off weight sizes on the wheels, +1 for balance
