Haha they will get over it in due time mate. Atleast you know your parents give a shit about you :P

Indeed there is always someone worse off. And for what it's worth, there's a reason insurance companies don't insure cars on the race track...because cars end up in sidewalls all the time. Just one of the expenses of motorsport, and if the late great Peter Brock can crash then anyone can.

Can't replace the things we love and lost but you can save up and get something better to take your mind off it :(

Take care mate!

Adam,

Yes they'll be over it cos Motorsport injuries aren't same as injuries sustained from playing ball sports.

I'm just happy that I walked away from the crash to be honest.

And have you sent the laynards yet?

Cheers

Grant

And fair enough too :D

No need to post them mate, its no body's business.

No doubt we'll see you in something soon :)

I'm sorry but if you had half a brain you'd lie about it and get a payout.. and if u don't lie about it.. you pretty much don't get paid out, and if u do, its hapened before and all they do is STILL REJECT your claim if they find out.. they will not try and dick you for fraud.. thats my 2 cents.. anyway....... O_O and if you've had a good history.. even the better reason to try.

You do realise insurance fraud is a rather serious criminal offence and punishable by the law, leading to you then having a criminal record.

You then would not be insurable on-top of that among quite a number of other issues

It was done @ a Motosport event, with what - 100 or so people on the grounds...

Possibly the dumbest thing I've seen posted this year mate, its that type of stupid attitude and reasoning that is putting all OUR premiums up.

Ash,

Thanks, I hope I'll pop up to events in future, I'm hoping to make it to Go Kart night in couple weeks time but my parents are arriving home that night hmm...

And please no more debate/dribble about insurance. Motorsport events means you're not INSURED, end of the story.

Cheers

Grant

badluck grant, atleast yous are ok. like you said, cars a replaceable..a humans life on the other hand isnt. but it is a shame about the car..saw it a few times..on the GOR and at status when u came in..goodluck on your next buy..hopefully its still a skyline.

Hey Grant,

Good to see you and your brother came out unscathed from the incident, i see these situations very frequently and some do not recover aswell as you guys did. You'd be surprised how many people have been in this situation, as I said on the day, you're not the first and definetly not the last. The guy with the GT3RS was devistated, and still is after 3 years!!!! I guess turning a $280k car into a ball does that to you.

Was more than happy to help out on the day, nothing worse than being stuck out there not knowing how to get the car back safely. Remember if you need any other help just let me know....

Stay safe.....

Jack

    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
    • Yep...so unless someone posts up the answer you will need to probe from the ECU connector to the dash plug with a multi meter in continuity mode to trace the wires.  Note the ECU has multiple - and + (and across different key settings - Battery, IGN and Start) and most likely the power is fed from the connector(s) that is normally near the left hand headlight.
    • Thanks Duncan, I am actually just trying to get the Rb turning and running with the RB25DET S2 original loom itself  I am just trying to get it going outside the body and not thinking about the S15 or trying to match anything to the S15 loom at all I am only trying to see if anyone has done this and what pin they found to be the ignition trigger and ECU+/- on the dash connector, that's about it. Thanks
    • Hi Guys, Does anyone know any aftermarket part numbers for a starter motor to suit the VQ25DET? I can find lots of alternative part number for the VQ35DE, which I assume would fit, but there is a lot of conflicting information out there. Thanks..
    • I don't understand how this hasn't boiled down to - Upgrade the turbo when you have everything required. ECU, injectors, fuel pump, turbo, etc. Do it all at once.  If you don't have everything required, just enjoy the car as it is and keep saving up your pennies.
