I am organising a group buy for NM 35 Stagea Sway Bars. We require a MINIMUM of 5 orders to go ahead.

Todd Selby from Signature Stabilisers will be manufacturing ;

Front; 30mm Solid, 3 position Blade Adjustable, (Up from 29mm Hollow standard) Group Buy Price; $300 RRP; $345

Rear; 24mm Solid, 3 position Blade Adjustable, (Up from 18mm Hollow standard) Group buy price; $280 RRP; $315

Prices include all "D" bushes and mounting brackets required.

Delivery is not included in this price, and rather than quote a "one size fits all" cost, contact me with your postcode for an accurate shipping cost.

As I live in Faulconbridge (Blue Mountains), all those wishing to come to me are welcome otherwise, I am happy to travel a reasonable distance in the Sydney area to deliver at no cost!

This is a great saving over retail, and an excellent chance to get hold of a custom made component that will really improve the handling of your wagon!

Go on! Buy your Stag a Christmas present!

Due to the one off nature of this product, I will requre FULL payment by 20th December 2010, and delivery is set to be the middle of January (actual delivery date may be a little earlier or a little later)

Rest assured, I will be keeping in touch through the process, and in contact with all purchasers once they're ready!

Banking Details;

Dale Laughton

ANZ Bank

BSB; 012-836

ACC; 5333-44981

When making a payment, please use your forum user name as a reference, so I can confirm payments.

So let's get cracking!

Cheers, Dale

Last Days everyone!

Thanks again, to everyone who has paid for their bars

If you're still interested, I will be placing the order on Monday 20th December, so you must hurry!

Cheers, Dale

FWIW I believe and upgrade from a 24mm hollow to a 24mm solid is approx a 70% increase so this is a significant upgrade especially on the rear.

Did Todd Selby indicate what % increase these bars will provide?

No he didn't, (I never asked him to work it out, to be honest)

We're going from an 18mm hollow rear to 24mm solid, so I'd imagine it's more in the order of a 150% increase. Which sounds like a lot, but by all accounts, the rear bar is WAAAY undersized; given how high up the wagon carries its mass when compared with a sedan.

The increase in stiffness is in line with the upgraded bars people fit to C34's, so I think we're right on the money.

These are a direct copy of the original "Sydnekid" Sway Bars, so we're not re-inventing the wheel, and the feedback from everyone who has these, is that they are excellent.

Happily, we've exceeded the minimum required for the group buy discount, so it's been worth all the effort to get it together, everyone benefits!

Thanks again everyone

Cheers, Dale.

wish I was onboard with this......but I need the car to at least role under it's own power first!

Ok, update.

Group buy is now closed, we ended up with 8 participants, which considering the timeframe; is a great result.

Today I paid the deposit, and Todd has estimated they'll be ready for shipping by ther middle of January. He gave me a choice of colours; and I've elected to go with stealth Black  .

I know some people like them bright colours, so they can see what they spent their money on, but there's method to my madness  . Todd has kindly offered to have them Powdercoated, whereas if we'd chosen colour, it would've only been paint. Powdercoat is a much tougher finish which will stand the test of time, and just adds a touch of professionalism to the product.

Once again, many thanks to everyone for their trust :thanks: , and I'll be in touch with you all personally to let you know how things are progressing.

Regards, Dale.

Dale. Is it going to be easy to get a set outside of the group buy at a later date through these guys,

or are they using somesones sway bars from there car to replicate the new ones for the group buy.

I was lucky that bbenny, was generous enough to lend me his original sway bars, these are what I've given Todd as samples to make our bars from.

There'll be a few sets of standard bars available after these are delivered, so you can probably borrow a set (mine if you like). So not impossible, but obviously the price will be around $40 per bar more expensive.

Todd's a great guy, and I'm sure he'd be happy to make them  It's what he does after all.

Sorry the timing didn't end up working out for you mate.:/ If there is ongoing interest, I MAY look at doing another Group Buy or if someone else wants to take the reins; go for it.

I picked up my 1992 M35 series 2 tonight so if there is a group buy later please contact me in case I miss a second round. I

Is the sway bar at the rear, located inside or outside of the vehicle

Yep, as Iain said, outside the vehicle.

Inside the vehicle, you must be thinking of a strut brace, but not applicable on the NM35 as there are no strut towers to bolt it to.

Guys,

I spoke to Todd this morning, he's completed all the front bars, and is going to be finishing the rears most likely today!

Then it's off to the powdercoaters (no paltry spraypaint for us) early next week, and hopefully ready to go late next week!banana.gif

He apologised for the delay, and also let me know someone else contacted him to get in on the action; glad you made it!thumbsup.gif.

I'll be in touch personally with everyone with this heads up, not long now!

Cheers, Dale.

G'day Guys!

OK, just off the phone with Todd, our bars are at the Powdercoater as I type, and he anticipates he'll have them back tomorrow. This means we should have bars in the post on Thursday, and I'll have all the Sydney guys bars in my car!

I'll be in touch as soon as I have them, and I'll organise a drop off asap.

Thanks again for your patience, not long now.

Cheers, Dale.

Sway Bars are finished!

I'll be going down on Friday morning to pick up the sets for the Sydney lads, and the interstate ones will be sent Friday afternoon, so with any luck everyone will Barred Up by midweek.:whistling:

Thanks for your patience guys, Dale.

Payment made this morning!

I have 3 sets of bars in my car right now.nyaanyaa.gifpost-61153-0-80801800-1296175400_thumb.jpg They look beautiful.

Don't worry, the "D" bushes and new clamps are there toothumbsup.gif

Qld guys; you should have yours Monday or Tuesday.

WA guys; you should have yours Thursday or Friday at the latest!

Alex; See you tomorrow morning.

Russel; See you Monday.

Thanks again everyone for making this happen!

Cheers, Dale

Fitted my set of Sway Bars this morning, bars fit perfectly

Only had to remove the centre undertray at the front to access the mounting points. Link to sway bar nuts can be quite tight, so you may need a Strongarm or knuckle bar to crack these nuts.

One of the front D bush brackets was a little tight to get the bolt into, but a little tap with a hammer had it sorted.

Also, the anti rotation tab on the front link needs to be aligned with one of the unused adjustment holes when tightening, as they will no longer sit on the outside of the bar.

Kit comes with plenty of white grease for the D bushes, so don't be stingy or they'll start squeaking ok?

On the rear, you will probably need to drop the 3 rear hangers of the exhaust to slide the bar into place, especially if you have a 3" system, but you shouldn't need to break the exhaust at the rear muffler flange.

All up took less than an hour to fit, using a set of car ramps.

The difference is huge! I've started with both bars on their middle setting, the rear feels spot on, but the front feels a little laggy, so I'll be going to the maximum on the front in the next few days.

Frankly, I think you'll all be amazed at the quality of these kits, and the improvement, but, if any of you have any issues at all, please get in touch with me ASAP, and I'll do all I can to assist.

Enjoy! Dale.

    • The speedo's can be very conservative, when my Mazda NC MX5 speedo is showing 118kph, the GPS, and a calibrated radar.... cop mate.....hits me at around 110kph +/- 1 or 2 kph, and that is on a 215/45 17, stock tyres size is 205/45 17 as well, so weirdly conservative with stock tyre size When my Commodore speedo red 116kph GPS had me at 110kph After doing some offset and clearance measurements to see what can fit the NC on 17x8 +40, without guard rolling or rubbing anything at my current ride height, I've decided that when my tyres are toast, I'm going to fit 225/45 17 and see where that gets me IRT actual speed of my speedo and GPS/radar From the online calculator I should be still be doing around 5kph under an actual 110kph when the speedo is showing 110kph My ADHD requires that when I'm doing 110kph on the speedo, that the actual road speed is actually really close to that, and not alot slower And going from 205 to 225 still keeps the car within the %/mm allowable in the NSW vehicle rules and regulations, which is nice, as long as I'm looking at the latest version that is.....LOL https://www.nsw.gov.au/sites/default/files/2021-02/RMS-13.464-Light-vehicle-modifications-Vehicle-Standards-Information-No-6-November-2013.pdf
    • Take the value it measured as, and pick the closest range available that is above the reading on the screen.   Also, no point just testing the coils. Read what has been said again. You need to test all your wiring, everything.
    • Does the scanner do all the CUs in the car, or only the ECU?
    • @666DAN sorry to bring you and old thread.     I've got my de+t done and it's all running great other than 1 small issue.    Car has remained auto with the na auto and tcm, I've used a stagea ecu with. NIstune board and everything is great other than my gear selection on the dash. It illuminates park, reverse, neutral, 3rd and 2nd when selected . But nothing when in  drive or what gear your in when you pop it into tiptronic. I'm sure there is maybe 1 wire in the ecu plug I need to move to rectify this. Do ya have any ideas?     Cheers man
    • Well I recently changed my rear axles and was thinking if I bumped anything, I have been driving the car for a while now though... But it has been raining today so everything is wet under the wheel arches. Brakes feel fine and can't hear any of the metal screamers, I had a squeak coming from one of the handbrake drums but that seems to have gone away a while ago. I was going down a hill when it lit up and I did feel the abs bite for a second and question why it did it?
