didnt catch it all but on sunrise they were interviewing a guy about a new party he is forming in Vic to take on the cops over their idiotic speed cameras, and antihooning laws etc.

Heres your chance to vote with your feet Or wheels in this case and a huge thumbs up to the guy for making a stand.

Get this in NSW and I would quit my job to support him.

Most of the laws are all well and good, yet you cannot lock someone up for doing 200k in a 50 zone when you pursued him for 200k in the 50 zone for over 20 minutes.

P plater, experienced driver, Police officer, race driver, any of the above, if someone walks infront of your car at those speeds there is nothing you can do. Common sense in that someone might not be in the right frame of mind would prevail in all cases.

Not only have I witnessed first hand the exact above scenario, however 2 weeks later have seen the exact same cop pursue a 16yo in a stolen corolla for over an hour TO HIS DEATH.

Enough said, I wont start to harp.

:O

MORE DETAIL REQUIRED!

I didnt catch much of it Ash, But he was a well spoken middle aged guy with enough brains not to be baited by the dumb bitch presenter throwing the word "hoon" at him every 4 seconds.

I like the little I saw and he used the Skaif, D/J, lewis hamilton references to good effect.

Could be a winner.

It's in NSW.... This it?

Interesting, yet typically pathetic title.

"Backing burnouts and speeding New party supports higher speed limits."

Also typically that they barely show his face talking like most interviews would.

And instead have people illegally misbehaving... Sad.

Yeah, That be it Ash, sorry, i thought it was in Vic. But hey! From little acorns mighty oak trees grow.

Totally agree :)

Hopefully they gain a lot of ground in NSW, although something like this would undoubtedly work better in Vic given we get raped compared to the NSW people.

Other than appealing to everyone in a car that isn't a stock Camry, what else are they offering? Better roads? Fuel prices? Etc? It's all good and well to support a party with some of your interests at heart, but what are they going to take away in the process?

Well lets give them a chance to have their say and you can make up your mind.

I personally dont care if he doesnt have a plan to save mankind. A party on these lines is never going to govern the state but if they can gather enough support to give car enthusiasts a real voice then I am all for it.

after reading through their website i found this, they will get alot of support for this one.

Law and order• Focus on crimes that have victims

• Policing based on Peel's Principles

• Repeal of 'bikie gang' legislation

• Repeal of terrorism laws

• Police held strictly accountable

I'd just like to see more even speed limits. I'm sick of having to always wonder what speed I should be doing.

It shits me to go from 80 to 40 on a three lane road. Get rid of all the school zone signs that stop me from doing what I should be doing, DRIVING!!!, and better police the people trying to play frogger with themselves. Put crash rails and high fences to stop people crossing where they shouldn't.

And those damn push bikes along Princess Hwy. There's a nice service lane over to the left with a 50 limit that is much safer than this 80 lane you're currently in. And while I'm talking about bicycles. When I was learning the road rules bicycles were meant to do hook turns at intersections. Not play chicken across three lanes and then move to the front and make only two cars follow you through the green arrow!

<cut>

More speed signs != more speed limits :)

The government did make a promise to ensure all GPS'es have accurate speed info by a certain year (2012?)....although obviously that doesn't help when your not using one :(

Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
