You have got me thinking about this instead of the Rb26 600hp tractor motor I am building

have done a little research

The 4.5 internals fit into to 4.1 block with enogh clearances etc.

Found this info on a R32 gtr AWD with VH4.1. The guy is in Australia and is/was on here (Skycat) but has not been online for a coupls of years. He did have a Advan as a contact and his real name in his profile. Track him down for all the info.

Skycat- is Peter from Advan Performance. Top guy... He was selling gearbox/engine mount kits and gearbox adapters to suit vg30 and rb25/6 gearboxes. He ended up getting an awd vh41 into an r32 gtr.

Cheers

Justin

Few pics in this thread

http://forums.nicocl...ne-t346785.html

Looking at the pics it looks like turbos will have to be mounted foward of engine as they will not fit between engine and strut towers??

This will creat alot of other drama's moving everything out the way.

Maybe best keep NA.

I will keep searching.

What year are these engines? Not sure if they can be made legal esp if they are older than the stagea's???

One of the main reasons I am not going Rb30

just remembering the last conversation i had with you Darrin. went something along the lines of keeping your car legal in all states so the RB30 build was off the table and it would be better to stick with a RB26. i bet you mouse is hovering over the bid button on import monster for a VH isn't it tongue.gif

Bam!! this just made my day. yanks have gotta be good for something. lolz

Note: half way down reference to a guy in Tassie, iirc someone has done one on this forum with a R32GTR. i thought you were going rips build pintaline?

AWD Cima

yep, still the plan, as soon as i sell a torana ill be starting to piece it all together. but where do you go from an RB30 if you ever feel like going further? a VH conversion would be a nice step up.

D.

Smart arse!!

I will stick with my $190 RB26. Should be here in about 2-3 weeks

Just need to work out where to hide it from the missus

Just been having a read about Power Enterprise, a Japanese tuning shop who also have a base in the US. AS well as building the twin supercharged and twin turboed GTR they also do twin turbo kits for the VQ35 which with the forged rods and pistons they also supply plus the chipped ecu can offer 450 -650hp off the shelf (well I guess there is a little additional work)!

This is the thought I had years ago, only problem was I had just finished the 26 conversion. AWD is a big job not impossible but not easy either, I was looking for quite a while for an awd front cut but no luck. I would do a rwd vh45 conversion and even keep it auto, I have driven a few vh45 powered cars and I love them, by far the best nissan motor I have driven for street duties. There are a few cheap complete cars for sale at the moment (Q45) if I had room I would by 1 and keep it till I found a good car to convert. Oh and they were made up till 2002 so in Qld you can convert upto 2002 cars without drama, friend has 1 in a vx monaro lol

    • Just had this happen to me too.  R32 GTR.   Also broke "just before going out onto the track" - someone up there is looking out for us... Very scary since I was about to do a narrow street course with zero run-off and curbs everywhere. Many people on here upgrading to billet uprights and R35 bearings?   Or buying new OEM knuckles?  I am not keen to replace with another s/h 30 year old fatigued part.
    • Top off with distilled water and see what happens. If you keep losing coolant then you know to start looking.
    • Nope.    Grab a varex and turn it down as you get close to home, win win?
    • So, I've had my V36 for about a month now and have already copped an "excessive exhaust noise" notification from QLD TMR, reported by someone in my local area. It's a twin as per the original, and can have a bit of a throaty note to it when idling cold 😄 and if I do get up it a bit, it can be noisy, but it did pass a roadworthy inspection before sale, so.... ... but in the interest of being a good neighbour, I do want to quieten it down a bit. Is anyone here running a quiet aftermarket cat-back on their V36 or 370Z? And the big, bold question: does an aftermarket cat-back really make much of a performance difference on these cars?
    • The wiring diagram for the R33 RB25 is freely available, and is essentially the same same as most other RBs (just with differences as to which pin # does which job). To get the ECU to power up, you just need to provide power to the ECCS relay, and have the other power feeds that come in from the top left of the wiring diagram (wrt the ECU) that give perma power to the fuel pump relay, the ECU itself, etc etc, all connected. When you put power on all these it will just come to life. It's pretty clear from the diagram what needs to happen. Just follow the lines from the 12V + supply stuff in the top left over towards the ECU. I've even posted snips of such diagrams (not for vanilla 25, I think for Neo and 26) to various threads here in the last few months, talking about what it takes to get the fuel pump and FPCM up and going. Search these up and they will help get you started on doing the same with the vanilla 25 diagram. Hell, for all I know, I've done the same with that one in years past and have forgotten.
