Hey guys, was driving last night launched my car hard and couldn't select 2nd. Pulled over and turned my car off. Car starts in neutral but I can't select gears, if I turn the car off I can select first and try start it with my foot on the clutch but it's like it's stalling. Any idea on what is wrong? Clutch is a Jim berry full Monty that I've done about 15-25,000 I'm on it

I'm guessing that might be the pivot fork squeeking from no lubrication or is the squeeking in the cabin? Just to rule it out check your clutch pedal bracket to make sure it isn't cracked or broken. If that's intact and working properly then it's probably your clutch that's gone.

I've had this happen once when down shifting in a previous car (r33 gtst) it ended up being

the pressure plate fork bending and the dampener springs coming loose.

threw a new clutch kit in and it was all sweet.

I could Select all gears with car off and not running.

Very difficult Gear selection into any gear with car running.

it sorta happens when you downshift from 5th to 4th at high rpm. but accidentally go from 5th to 2nd :(

read my thread, same issue, it was flywheel fusing itself to the clutch plate.. same symptoms as yours..

yep this is exactly the same thing I think I described in your thread..

OP you've spot welded your clutch plate to your fly wheel, done it heaps of times with jims clutches and surprise surprise another broken a gearbox with one of these clutches

anyway put it in first, start it ( it will lerch forward but will start) put your foot on the clutch take it up into the boost zone and nail it. it will brake free.

but after that many kms the clutch could be stuffed anyway, but maybe not if you've only done 6 launches (think I read that)

the welding thing happens when you slip the clutch for too long and it gets really hot

Definitely a clutch related problem, but don't rule out the following which are IMO more likely to be the cause:

- Clutch fork pivot ball could be worn, very common issue in all Nissans...can be replaced with a $70 Nismo item but the gearbox needs to be taken out to do it. Precursor to (and after) this failing is a fair bit of squeaking when moving the clutch pedal in and out.

- Leak in the hydraulic system, e.g. faulty slave or master cylinder.

    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
