haha yep...I was complaining because my lap timer showed 1.07.00...wished I had cracked the 1.06s. Turns out natsoft says I did.....if it's on the internet it must be true :D I am stoked with that time it is a fair bit quicker than my last best.....those Federal FZ201 are a good thing :D

Thanks to Steve and Shell for standing at the flag point all day, and to Aggrodave for organising all the entrants.

Very sorry to see what happened to Eric's car, and I hope both you and Reece pull up OK. That was by far the worst incident I have seen at one of our track days - I hope everything is sorted out at minimal cost

ahh you lying bastard! But you did help build the engine so you can have 50% credit :P

HAD HEAPS OF FUN GUYS :D, Thanks to the organizers Steve, dave, shell and the like :D. Everyone was friendly and had a great time at my first day.

First track day EVER mind you guys and i almost never drive my skyline :'( due to license issues... Anyway i was such a NOOB... Thanks to duncan Riece and ben for all your help you guys were great :D... Still gonna have nightmares duncan dam you!.

I pulled a 1.28 at the beg of day on street tyres ended up shaving 5 seconds off that at a 1.23 personal best :D:D. Next time im hoping to hit 1.15...

PS: Good luck Eric man hope you get some kind of pay from that bloke... If it doesn't happen theirs always the bat and half cut option ^.^

Cheers

Great to meet up with Dave > then Dean 'n Jeremy > BenM who talked me thru' the circuit > great buzz.

Then there's Sid (Yay), Steve-0, Mark, Patrick, Brian, Neil, Nick, Shell, Eric, Duncan, Ben, Buz, Matt, Kory, Matt, and others that are testing my premature dementia who offered support eh?

If you Eric can PM me with the dialogue between you and that jerk driving Dan Mackie's car > I'd like to make contact with Simon Mackie, Dan's dad and see if some moral backbone can spike that dude's conscience!

I've received heresay reports only, and I don't want to act on those alone.

1:18 is bleh..

Dunc keep an eye out for my front bar at turn 2 would ya lol

Thanks to Eric and Don/Mal from renew for helping with scruitineering.. still not sure how i got stuck with it but oh well.

Had a great day out and cant wait for the next one. Did a 1:17.1 so thats ok,but still lots of room to improve. Bring on May!

We'll look at class points shortly and let everyone know.

Shell: I'm not sure if you have spoken to eric about a couple of those shots in your facebook link but if he isnt aware of them it's probably not a good idea to post them. Depends on how he is handling it i guess.

Would be nice if old mate in the 300 offered to replace the fire extinguishers another bloke and I emptied under his bonnet. His car would have been in an even worse state without it.

Eric's a friend in person and also on my facebook so if he has a problem with the couple of pics on the flatbed, I'm sure he'll tell me :)

I dont really know him just looking out for him - he seems like a good guy. Speaking vaugely about something is one thing but pics become a massive issue if insurance gets involved and if a bunch of people are posting them up it can have consequences

The whole incident happened right in front of me and im still struggling to work out how he got it so wrong.

Unless you have spoken to the driver involved it's pretty poor form to post pics of an incident.

Not sure if that was aimed at me, but it was a public event at a public racetrack and sh!t happens. But removed it out of courtesy anyway...

    • This looks great! Awesome to have the 5 speed with an LSD in this. The Recaro's look like SR2's or SR3's. It's a shame they've been retrimmed as they would have looked sweet in their original colours. I think I'd want my agent to be a little more up front and informative too. I've never imported but I reckon it would make me a little nervous, so the more info the better.
    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
