Noise shows up well before 3200. Around ISO 800 on most cameras. It depends on what you shoot with (camera, nothing to do with lenses). The only thing lenses come into is that you can shoot at 1.2/1.4 etc.. in low light so that your shutter speed can be upped or your ISO dropped. This doesn't always help out THAT much but it helps.

true... I havn't done alot of low light stuff with my d700 using no flash. I did find the iso does start to show up in that type of lighting situation at iso 800 onwards but in saying that its only evident when viewing the image at 100%. The good thing is you can play with the noise reduction in post process and reduce it a bit.. :) I'm still learning more about my camera everyday which is good now I just need to focus on a particular type of photography and get good at it...

Jay, I agree with everyone else about the HDR's - they look really natural! Some people really over-do them, and I don't really like that style much myself. Sometimes it works, but it has to be used in the right context. I could barely call myself an amateur, but I know what I like...

Here's a vid my friend posted up on FB, it's good for a laugh:

When someone asks me why do you want to be a wedding photographer, I simply say its because I get to experience the different cultures, their customs, the ability to capture and document the special day as well as learn and share what I experience on the day with others. This to me is what wedding photography should be all about. When Jessica contacted me a few months back I was so excited to photograph her wedding. It was my first time photographing a South Indian wedding and through it, I have realised how different it is to a North Indian Wedding.

Jessica and Subra's wedding was conducted in Sanskrit which is the oldest surviving language in the Indo-European family of languages. The wedding ceremony is called 'Vivaaham' which means to support and sustain. This ceremony is to create a spiritual union to support and sustain a man and a woman in their pursuit of dharma (righteousness) through their married life.

The wedding day consisted of a pre wedding ceremony and the marriage ceremony. The sample pics below are from the pre-wedding ceremony. It consisted off three parts which can be seen below.

Not sure how many I can post, but lots more on my blog: http://sidd-rishi.com.au/blog/2/jessica-and-subras-wedding-part-1/

1. Kasi Yathirai (Pilgrimage to Holy Kasi):

The young bachelor, Subra is on his way to Kasi to lead an ascetic life. Jessica's father intervenes and advises him of the superiority of married life to ascetic life and asks him to take Jessica as a companion for life.

2. Exchange of Garlands:

3 Oonjal (The swing):

Aunties sing songs and offer and milk to the couple who are seated on the swing. While the couple is seated, the aunties throw coloured balls of rice over their heads to ensure good luck. The swinging motion represents the ups-and-downs of life in which the couple move in harmony, steady and stable throughout.

The pics posted above are just a few from the day. Lots more on my blog.

Hope you have learnt something new. This to me is why I love photographing weddings and sharing these things with you all.

Thanks for your time.

^ ^ ^ Lovely Pics!

Is there a knock-on effect into Boudoir Photography?

Or is it a domain of middle-aged women wanting to maintain a youthful look?

What are the demographics that prompt a request for Boudoir Pics?

Cheers all.. Hoping to get part 2 up on the blog soon.

Terry - Well havnt had any requests from wedding clients as such for those types of pics, but would love to do it one day (tastefull stuff that is). Im sure there is a big market out there for it. Whats the reason you ask?

I've had shy women clients who need to be able to express themselves more, so I've recommended dance, amateur acting, and a few others as forms of the arts.

They come quite often with a low opinion of themselves and their bodies Sid.

I'm just surmising.

Have you recommened to get that type of photography done? Wouldnt they feel even more uncomfortable?

I used a few flashes to light the walls. use half power so you don't over power the light on the car.

thanks guys.

Sidd, the night went ok, i was planning on using the large octo to speed things up but i forgot the cover/defuser ;/ so had to do it with all with my 40x60 softbox.

Everyone was happy, got some good shots. Everyone enjoyed chilling out with a few beers/pizza and talking crap. was a good night out. pretty busy though working on 5 at once :P

Nice shots fagboy! Turned out nice! Those XT9's are fcuking pr0n!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do you have another softbox besides your little mini one? Because i donno if you realize, but a 40x60 softbox is fcuking massive. Bigger than my octo. If you mean your little mini one its like 12x24". Unless i'm talking about something else? OH SNAP.

Would be friggin epic to paint with though!! Although would need about 4 of my lights for it.

Did you end up using my light?

Sidd - Fantastic wedding shots as always. Can't believe how hairy that guys chest is :O:O

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
