Perhaps, but I bet they make it very clear in their PDS that driving under the influence of behind the counter benzodiazepines and SSRIs will void insurance claims :teehee:

* Many Policies make an issue out of voiding insurance if a person insists on driving home from hospital after anaesthesia, taking painkillers that have a soporific effect (like Panadeine Forte), sedatives (like Stilnox, tranquilisers (like benzodiazepines eg Valium, Xanax, Serepax) or anything with Label #1 on the pack.

* Influence of alcohol and other recreational drugs will void insurance too of course.

* SSRIs are OK apparently, even though they can play with a person's head for the first 2-3 weeks on a new one. You know which drugs I mean, but for those who don't, they include Prozac, Lovan, Luvox, Lexapro, Zoloft, Aropax, Cipramil etc.

* Policies seem to ignore (at their own peril) natural medicines like melatonin, tryptophan & st. john's wort which will make most people drowsy - probably more so if taken with alcohol.

Just make a claim to Lumley's Insurance, whoever you're with. God came to me when I was hiking on a mountain and said that Lumley's had to pay out your insurance claims. They know he exists so they will believe you. He also demanded agreed value, choice of repairer and lifetime no-claim bonuses for you all.

Im currently insured with LSV and my insurance is due next month. Im really worried... Been with them a few years and never made a claim, but last year they upped my premium to something like $2400 instead of $1400... its an R33 GTST for christs sake she aint worth much. My mate with a $45k Golf GTI pays the same as me and my car is worth 1/4 of his if that! Im 29 no accidents/claims living in north shore. Thankfully last year LSV sent me a renewall at $1400 in error (new policy pref to stay away from imports) so they honoured it and i got out of the new rates of an extra $1k... waiting to see what they send me this time.

Shannons wont touch me as my basement garage does not have an individual cage for my car, so i fear ill only be able to afford third party now which im very uncomfortable about. :( Or are there other insurance options around now?

Just Cars? Paying about $800 a year full comp lol. And I've had no trouble with them paying out on a claim. My premium actually got cheaper after an accident - go figure.

    • Wife wanted basket things in the wardrobe in our temporary house. Thought about ripping our the wardrobe and fitting the entire IKEA set, but it's a temporary house and we want to move in a few years. So IKEA advertises this as a 50cm unit, however the actually basket and rails measure 46cm wide. Only issue was depth, IKEA stuff is quite deep, where as the builder special junk is super shallow at less than 40cm. Send it, chopped the rails, then offset the mounting holes, job done, happy wife, less shit scattered all over the bedroom. Did the same to the other side too. Also drove the Skyline shit box today, dropped off oil at Supercheap Auto. I didn't realise they only now take max 2x bottles per visit. I visited 2x Supercheap Autos.
    • I've seen similar actually in my situation. You never know what tables are attempted to be used when the car thinks it's -99C or +200C. The fail state is not usually that extreme but you know what I mean - it was in my case though! This is where being able to read all the sensors is useful cause you see this stuff really quickly.
    • The above is very important. However as long as you keep timing relatively low, it's plausible to make your own knock ears and plausible to learn to tune with a modern ECU that can do wideband O2 correction like a boost controller. I mean if you only have one viable road to even drive the car on, learning to tinker to this level may be worth doing given you can't do much else with the car...?
    • I find the fact that the rear plate has to be bent inwards at the rear not so bad: but the front is just awful: It's like come on. (these are my very old, now retired/turned in plates) TBH it is a lot of money to fix a minor issue, the fact I said "I'll never really spend the money on doing this" is why people ended up buying them as a gift for a 'car guy' who can be hard to shop for.. for car guy things.
    • I just bent the ends of my premo plates. It even went through Regency like that after the engine conversion and the inspector (a great bloke!) just squinted his eyes and said "I didn't see that". Plates, and how they look, are just something that have zero importance to me.
