OK So First DECA for the year....March 19th

And as per usual no volunteers to help us for the day means we cannot run the day.

So we are calling for your assistance - if you're willing to help, or if you're bringing a friend/partner who's willing to help - please speak up.

We can explain what you need to do if you haven't done it before, so don't stress about that.

It is VERY easy stuff and you will get a great view of the action!!

(very good for you budding photographers)

All officials will be given a free lunch and water during the day.

We also need all officials to be at DECA by 8.00am on Saturday morning - same time as competitors.

We will be organizing Volunteers prior to the Drivers Briefing.

Until all slots are filled, Drivers briefing will NOT go ahead and the event will not start.

I know it sounds harsh but without these people we cannot run the event.

Please PM me if you are able to help out. Even if just for 1/2 a day.

Thanks Heaps

Martin

I still reckon volunteers should receive priority entry into the next DECA if they wish. You'd probably get a lot of people who miss out instead come up for the day to watch, and volunteer so they don't miss the next one.

Everytime i come down i help out where possible, generally the skidpan in the afternoon.

Its dead easy to help out and still have a go, just get whoever runs before you to do your job for your run then swap back :)

Good idea Kieran

This was tried in the past and was not taken up by many people.

thus was discontinued (hard to have a priority list for something like this.)

WE more often get partners/ friends those that want to compete usually enter or don't turn up.

Happy to discuss bringing this back if there is enough interest.

Just make it simple. If they're there on the day and assist, when the accommodation thread for the next DECA rocks up any volunteers from the last DECA are able to reserve a place in that same thread. They can't pay or fill out forms till the official thread and forms are available, but their name appears on the list with Ryan, Leon, Clive, etc.

If they don't reserve themselves between the accommodation thread and the official DECA thread they forfeit their priority entry and have to line up like everyone else.

If they don't pay within a couple of weeks, they get bumped off the list.

    • 75% complete. Will now need to get a new axle with 5x114.3 hubs and then figure out how to customize some mudguards for it once the wheels are on.
    • Trailer prep is underway... Lined up the wheel to get a rough indication of how it would sit Then removed all the bits (as far as possible) and gave the frame a light sand and quick lick of paint   Then added some carpet
    • okay, so I figured this out, removed needles and reinstalled after swapping the gauge face on my triple gauge for my ER34, all work and look good. I tried to do the same for the main cluster, but the main cluster gauge faces are dished, the replacement gauge face are flat, so due to the dish in the org face ,mounting backing plate (clear) and depth of the needle, the flat gauge face will not work. I notice that R34 gtr gauges are flat, appears to be different clear backing plate that aren't dished. are these available, or what have others done to install flat gauge faces?
    • Cheers mate. Seems some people get lucky others don't. It looks like the motor was detonating (to be expected if it was overboosting I suppose) as the pistons had a lot of detonation damage, and the bearings were stuffed. The bores were very scoured too, not sure if that's from the pistons or bits of ceramic turbo. By the by now. Have been trying to avoid the rabbit hole too much on the rebuild, and there's been a few hurdles along the way, but with any luck I'll have the car back soon™. Might even pop up a thread then.
    • Thanks, these seem to lay it out a bit differently. I will get back to you guys after i do some tests and more digging.
