Bulahdelah_Supp_Regs_-_20_March20111.doc

thanks for posting up....I've been meaning to do this event for years and it is good timing for me this year. I can't confirm until after the SAU track day, but will go if everything is OK :D

Interesting that they have dropped CAMS this year.

This is funny (from the supp regs) A new class 6001cc – 10000cc is now in operation & a class for THE OLD & THE BOLD

I guess turbo 3.8 and 4l motors are causing capacity problems to old CAMS rules

yer

i no from the past that thay where haveing problems in that for a state event thay need a Ambulance and for a club day all thay need is sant jhons ambo and this change ever year so that where haveing truble bugeting cost and so the event gets cand

there are a lot of club going down the aasa road as its eazer to run a event but it will be intersting if / when that have there first crash which corse death or majer injery as thay have neve been teated trow cort and aasa min reg are not the same as cams and as cams is recnised at a world level

sorry for the bad spelling it is no my stronge point

i will be trying to get there to race if cant do that i will be going to spectat as my first race for the year keeps getting put back and back

yeah SAU NSW don't run anything except social under CAMS....AASA are just too much easier, cheaper and more helpful.

I'm sure their insurance policies are fine....they already cover all of the tarmac rallies except Targa West, and they have lots of big stacks.

yer im starting to look in to going that way

with the car club that im in (newcastle sporting car club)

as no one in our club has the license from cams for us to run a events

i have started to look in to it and it will be munths away be for we can

we have a area the we car run 3 MOTORKHANAs at once

just need that bit of paper

Spewing, I'll be in Thailand...is that good or bad? lol

That should not be a problem Chris as I am sure that some of the boys could run your car for you in your absence - that way next year you will have a time to beat.

I promise that we will take good care of it for you.....

My home town...don't know if that is a good or a bad thing...

The Hillclimb is always a good couple of days. I'll be there. I Will only be spectating though.

If anyone is keen for a little cruise on the way there from newcastle (e.g old pacific hwy though Boral, maybe a sneaky trip up to foster on the lakes way), id be keen. Would be cool to meet some fellow enthusiasts.

cheers.

any pics or vids of the track?

It's the section of the Old Pacific Highway at Wooton is it not?

When the bypass went in several years ago to rid the world of those things called "bends" that so many drivers are terrified of; this section became fairly disused, as it only gets used by local traffic.

It was really overdue though, it simply couldn't safely take the traffic, and we deserve better for the major roadway between two states.

It's a great bit of road without those pesky cars everywhere, but normally you have to watch out for fallen tree branches & heaps of leaf litter, that's how little traffic it sees.

Do yourself a favour, break your trip & turn in at Wooton for a 20km detour of awesome bends and a damn fine winery "Great Lakes Winery " Steve & Robyn are great people & they make some damn fine wines!

yeah a great piece of road, very quick a hillclimb, it is up to 3 lanes wide in places.

unfortunately I can't be there, got my weekends wrong, this clashes with the state champs at eastern creek.

good luck aza!

    • Update 4: Hi all. The car drives again! Haven't driven for long, only to store it in the garage again, but the test drive was successful. The coolant and oil leaks seem to be fixed for now. Temps on the engine were also very good, while moving I never even saw 80C water during the approx. 30 minute drive. Ate up all the coolant in the reservoir though so will have to fill that even more when I go to the car next time. One thing that pisses me off is that the RPM gauge is still f**ked, I even resoldered the board twice and used copper paste on the silly screws that are used as connections. Next time I take it out I'll take apart the board and fit new components, I'll see if I can get a replacement IC for it.  I have an appointment set for 22nd of September for the engine tune to 370hp. Alignment also still needs to be done. My hope is that I can get all the legal stuff over with by the end of this season. Anyone of you have advice regarding intercoolers? Currently there is an APEXI core fitted, one of those weird hybrid ones, 600x270x76. I don't think it's bad but it's not new and now I still have the chance to change it now to legally include it in the paperwork. Only issue is that the only options that would arrive in time are a HKS Type R intercooler or generic Ebay spec intercoolers comparable to a JustJap one. Ideally I'd order a Plazmaman but it takes over a month to receive which would mean making the car legal has to wait until next season. Would love to hear some input on this. Same story for my injectors, the previous owner was a nunce and put ID 1050x on the engine. They work but are obviously not ideal at "normal" power levels. But I don't see a reason to change them unless the tuner says it's necessary. I read online before buying a different exhaust that the top secret style rear diffusers won't fit due to the size of the rear resonators. My buddy and I made it work by slightly "adjusting the shape" of the mounting bracket and making some spacers out of 3d print for the mounting bolts. Fits like a charm. Just putting this here in case someone has this problem. Even the hefty HKS Silent Hi Power rear can fits without hitting anything.
    • Well they got my money but they are not getting my gearbox !
    • It's needed for rolling idle up, and I think it is a decider on VCT also.
    • I mean, not really. Link ECU's can absolutely still have errors from the ECU thinking it's getting a sensor it's not expecting. I would imagine the speed at the ECU level in Nistune does absolutely nothing anyway? I assume the ECU does not do any fancy TC stuff with regards to front+rear wheel speed or anything of that like anyway. Someone who uses Nistune may be more fluent in it.
    • Not yet quite as bad as what we've seen a Jim Berry clutch do in an R32 GTR though when it decided to cut a chassis rail in half... Still very very gnarly and a great reason to avoid.
