Bit of an update as to the current delay.

They were all ready to send but then Steve noticed that they had put the red and blue fittings on instead of the black fittings! So they have to change them all over. Will let you know any more updates as they come in. Shouldn't really be that much longer I would think. Steve sends his appologies for the fuck up and realises that we are waiting out for these.

I seriously have the worst luck when it comes to these group buys :( Definetely think i'm going to do things differently from now on for future group buys.

FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!

Hi Phil,

Got word today that the black fittings are going to be 4-6 weeks wait.

So what I'm going to do is send them as they are now (with the red/blue fittings) and if anyone wants to buy their own black fittings over there then I'll refund them what they cost. They can still keep the red/blue fittings, which are about 45 GBP worth anyway!

I sent an email back straight away to hold off on sending them until I check with you guys.

Personally I can wait as I want the black fittings and I think a few of you would be the same.

For the other guys that don't want to wait (which I can COMPLETELY understand) they can get theirs sent.

So let me know what you guys want to do.

So f**king sorry that this shit is happening again with Hel. Such an annoying thing that once again is out of my hands :(

Not have a shot at you Phil but I'm starting to loose patience with these guys. It's already been a 2 months and they still have not sent it out, now they are saying another 4-6 weeks, which going on their previous time frames could easily blow out to 6 months +.

I would rather just get the kit here and on my car rather than waiting for the black fittings. Maybe they can refund the difference in cost for the cheaper fittings?

Completely understand man and i'm not happy about it at all. After the whole Hel drama with the first group of brake lines (not to mention the dramas with Z1 Performance and the R34 pedals) I am starting to loose faith in doing these group buys.

Let me know what you want to do. I can get yours sent out and hit them up to transfer you some money through Paypal or something.

Hi Phil,

Great work on putting together so many GB's. You have the same tastes as I do with parts so your choices are always interesting.

I've been a little concerned with the current GB based on past excuses of the supplier and the feedback today does not help, a minimum of 6 extra weeks probably more. As I understand it you have received goods from this company before but they have a reputation for late delivery, is this correct? I appreciate you have said you will look to run these differently in the future to avoid or limit these kinds of delays.

Based of their email to you the suppliers are seemingly happy to pay(reimburse) for the fittings we find our selves, but that would probably have to happen through you, as I can find a supplier easily for $600 made on the spot for me, so there must be some level they are willing to pay to, maybe $80-100 based on the GBP price of the connections? I know it is a pain but would you be willing to try and find a local supplier of the black connections with quick turn around? Then organise a refund through yourself (before purchase).

Personally I'd prefer to receive the majority of the goods I paid for so long ago, and await delivery of the final black parts. That way I have 90% of what I paid for and am happier waiting for the final parts. (Unless they need to be specially fitted).

I'm not going to lie, fittings are an absolute bitch to put onto braided lines. Let alone trying to remove old ones. Especially 4 of them.

My black fittings that I have used throughout my engine bay were through VPW so yes we should be able to get them locally. It is just going to be such a pain in the ass to organise it properly and I don't want any one being out of pocket due to this f**k up.

The first ever group buy I did with Hel was an absolute f**k around however since then I have done plenty of orders for brake and clutch lines and there have been no problems. So this is the first time since. Not saying it makes it right though, i'm still very annoyed about it.

I thought about this a lot tonight and I guess here are the options I came up with (Feel free to suggest others).

1. Obviously a refund can be given to any one that would like one. That's a given but I will still mention it.

2. Wait until the black fittings come (Am about to email him to discuss if there is any possible way for them to speed things up. I mean 4-6 weeks is quite a bloody long time).

3. Send out the oil cooler kit with the red and blue fittings and see how much of a refund they can give to the person (or maybe a free brake line/clutch line kit? I dunno would have to ask).

4. Send out the oil cooler kit with the red and blue fittings and take it to a place for them to swap over the fittings to black ones and send the invoice back to Hel (obviously once again would have to check how much they are willing to pay)

    • Just trying to get my head around this. At 5psi of boost, you turn on your wmi pump, and then you're using a 3000cc injector, to allow flow upto the actual engine, where you have your 6x200cc injectors and a 500cc injector. If the above is correct, what advantage are you obtaining by having the 3000cc injector blocking flow, is this just incase a line breaks between that injector and the motor you can stop flow immediately? Or are the 6x200cc and 500cc less injectors and just spray nozzle?
    • Welcome! New member myself, but I had an R33 back in 2002. Best advice I could give, based on my experience: if you're running the factory turbo, be very conservative with boost. I made the mistake of just fiddling around with the boost controller and cranking the boost for fun, and the end result was my intake pipes popping off frequently from the constant deluge of oil that was being blown into the recirc by the stressed-out turbo, which itself was siphoning oil from the engine and farting it out both sides of its centre bearing (or something to that effect). If I could do it all again, I would have gotten a new turbo and had a tune dialled in professionally and then just left it alone! Funny you mention the metal shavings in the gearbox, as I had the same thing - the probe plug (magnetic drain plug, essentially) would come out caked with shavings. At least it was doing its job. Not sure if that's just sacrificial wear and part of the deal, or if my gearbox was shagged, but I wasn't abusing it. Enjoy the R33 - they're a dying breed, and if they weren't $35k+ on CarSales in Queensland, I might have picked up one of those again, instead of the 370GT I own now (though I'm loving the 370GT, that big 3.7L V6 just hits different).
    • Howdy folks. I owned an R33 back in 2002, which was thoroughly beyond my capacity (financially speaking) to maintain/insure, so we parted ways in 2004. Fast forward 21 years (to literally yesterday, in fact) and I'm now the proud owner of a 2007 V36 370GT. I'm happily surprised by how much power the VQ37VHR makes, compared to the RB25DET, considering the latter is turbocharged. I had planned to add a turbo at some point but I'm on the fence about whether I'll even need it (though I do love the sudden onset of extra torque). Any other 370GT owners around the traps, I'd love to hear about your experiences with this car (good and bad).
