Dont know if wolverine has posted his dynosheet up but his twin scroll ext gate 3076 setup made 1kw more than mine on 18 or 19psi where i made my GTX3071 int gate peak figure came at 21psi and it came on slightly earlier than his but power was basically the same everywhere.

How much earlier can the big can actuator bring on boost? Cos i only have the baby 14psi actuator

In 2nd gear my car pulls really hard from bout 3800 so with the E85 been told to expect maybe 300rpm better boost response if that actuator helped with maybe 100-200 rpm more (am i dreaming? ) and i get the boot in the ass i get now at 3800-4000 in 2nd at under 3500rpm it will be faaarkin awesome because she dont let up till redline either!!!!:teehee:

Also wondering if running more than the 21psi i run now will be a bad idea? Thinking bout screwing another 4-5psi into her LOL

I'm STILL in the process of putting together my GTX3071R 0.82 Neo with type B Poncams and WMI. I also have the little 14psi actuator and I think I will get hold of a 19psi "big can" actuator before I finish the build. Let me know if you find one cheap!

Ahhh Justo get ya shit together dude get ya beast boogeyin :nyaanyaa:

How far away is the build?

Why stop there?

I had an actuator hose blow off the other day and heard the overboost warning a few times, these GTX3071 compressors will run at 2.8 bar no problem by the way. >_<

I'm starting to think wastegates are over-rated. I'm trying to get the most out of everything, why not max out the turbo's capabilities too.

Hahaha Scotty just dont wanna pop my motor just yet thats the only thing holding me back dunno how long the lil 25 will last unopened with over 25psi being pumped down its neck hoping to crack at least 320kw

Yeah very happy with the GTX3071 mate makes the same power as the 3076 with better response and is capable of blowing stupid pressures too :worship:

Boost won't pop it, bad tuning will.

You are just as likely to pop the motor running 18psi as you are 25psi if its tuned badly.

Keep it cool, keep detonation away and chances are it will live for years at that power level.

:whistling: The block has been back from the machinists for a while but i will finally be cleaning it all tomorrow morning, then I just need to schedule some of my dads time to help me put the bottom end together. Which is hard as he is now building a BMW race car of his own. Nevertheless I hope to start on that over the next 2 weeks. Then the rest should come together quickly after that - hopefully!

Hmmmmmm why am i getting stupid ideas of 30psi now pinch.gif lol

Not long now then dude  Cant wait to see what my car feels like on E85 wish i could of had it tuned this week

Matt from nistune made 300kw with poncams and a neo rb25 with a 0.82 internal gate 3071 on BP98! Probably the best result I've ever seen, was done at morpowa here in Adelaide by Pete who is also from Nistune, he reckons the dyno is far from happy.

Matt does have very high quality parts on his car, proper jap intercooler and everything else is not cheap.

If you go on the nistune forums you can see the dyno sheet and discussion surrounding it.

Just a quick correction but Matt uses a 0.63 internal gate housing not 0.82. Yes it is very impressive.

I would love to see it back to back without the poncams, I wonder how much they are adding??

Dont think caltex will be offering anything too exotic at the bowser haha just hoping the 850cc PE injectors and tomei in tank pump will get me at least 25psi

You'll need some exotic fuel to get around detonation at that level with these turbos.

i wonder what a GTX3076 with 0.82 external will do on 18-20psi, will be some interesting comparisons to come in the future, mine is probably a month off, will post results then..:whistling:

Will be intersting cos it seems the Gtx's need some decent boost to start making good power but hope it goes well looking forward to seeing some results from the 76 in GTX form

I think mine has yours covered at this point but I know there is still some improvements to be made in your set up.

More boost....never a bad idea. :ninja:

I think went from 280 to 300, there is a dyno sheet before and after I believe.

Hehehe didnt think more boost would have been a bad idea and here i was saying our setups werent much different but somebody gave me their results without putting their glasses on hey :whistling:

Opps, sorry about that, driving while reading a dyno sheet with three overlays and texting in the dark is not my strong suit.

Yours will match it soon enough.

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... HTH
    • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
