Just a question relatin to tint-I took the chaser thru regency yesterday and the tint was too dark so they got me to peel it up enough so it had to be replaced-that way they would

pass it, but I want to know If you can damage the rear window (the lines set in the window to defrost it). If I peel the tint of the rear window is it going to ruin these-?any particular way to do this,or best to get one of the above guys to do it?cheers

Not making any promises but just dont cut any of the lines with a blade. So get a blade and get a corner started but done use the blade in the middle of the window.

AS long as you dont cut the demister lines then Ive never had any problems

I can't tell you who to go to, but i can tell you NOT to go to Auto Perfection.

I unfortunately bought into the last SAU SA group buy, for two cars, the front windows of the stagea and full tint for my Chaser. Both times I was told to get there in the morning before about 10 and car would be ready by around lunch. Both times I did not get the car back until 5 or 5:30 then was palmed off some bullshit excuse that differed wildly from what I was first told, or told again when I called to see how the car was going.

The second time my wife and I spent the majority of the afternoon (4hrs+), sitting in the waiting area, listening to the pig of an owner verbally abuse his receptionist repeatedly, then whenever an angry customer arrived (we counted 5 in the time that we were there, out of about 7 customers total), he would scurry out the back, telling his receptionist that "he wasn't there", to leave her to take the beating. One poor woman who was also waiting on tint and had dropped her car off at around noon, came back just before we were leaving, to see that her car hadn't even made it into the workshop yet.

What's more, I now have a 3-4 inch long scratch on my driver's side window, pin-prick holes on the passenger side tint and the tint looks like it hasn't bonded to the rear windscreen properly. But i absolutely REFUSE to take it anywhere near them and will have nothing to do with them further.

This is my personal experience. Not my friend's friend's friend's (although I have heard those as well). If I had my time again, I would have paid the $30 or so that I saved in the group buy and gone to somewhere like instant windscreens, where they're nice, they do their job in the timeframe they specify ad you get quality work.

Auto Perfection burnt the f.......k out of my roof lining all the way across my back window when tinting

I could not believe they could do this much damage with a heat gun ,

GO ELSEWHERE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! +1

i had to peel a bit off so regency could see it was damaged enough to have to be replaced just so they would let it pass. I peeled the top corner not using a knife just ripped a bit up with my finger and started peeling it off. it peeled off over the line and the bit i peeled off looked like it had a bit of the line on it, I wasnt sure if it was just colour or part of it so i stopped. Guess i should play safe and take it to a tinter unless its definate I wont wreck it. thanks mate

    • 9" wheels are a little too wide for a RWD 32. They can fit. People have put R33 GTR wheels on 32s for years and years. But they are a very tight squeeze. This has been known for about 30 years. As I said - there is no difference between a 17 and an 18 in terms of what will fit. The rolling diameter needs to stay about the same as stock - not very much larger. If you increase that, you will start to have problems. If you increae rolling diamater at the same time as yo increase width, you will have problems earlier. as 9" wheels are pushing the boundaries already, you would need to be careful with tyre choice. I would put 8.5s on the front of mine, but would expect problems with 9s.

    • Diagnostic flow for a code 21 says check signal at the ECU pins, on a voltmeter of some kind it should read 0.1V at idle, 0.12V cranking, 0.15-0.25V at 2000 rpm. Check each coil such that +1, -3 is infinite or very high resistance, -3, +2 should do the same. (-1, +3), (+3, -2), (+1, -2), and (-1, +2) should all be somewhere between 0 ohms and high resistance. If you trace the path from the coil pin all the way back to the ECU in the diagram the resistance you measure at the coil vs connected to the harness should be pretty much the same.
    • I have an elite 2500 running an adapter harness on an rb25de neo r34. I took the butterfly out and removed all that junk. But I also went Plus+t at the same time. The butterfly thing works in reverse to the boost solenoid on the Gtt if that makes sense
    • yeh they are 235/45/17 up front and 255/40/17 in the rears. I still didn't get my answer if i can fit a 18x9 up front. I want to get 4 of this and see if they will fit before committing as they didn't see an 18x8 as an option but there is a 18x9.5 also.   Enkei RS05-RR 18x9 35mm ET 5x114.3 75.0 Bore Matte Gunmetal Wheel
