Hey guys, i currently have a 33 gts im gonna get rid off, but before that i wanna set myself up with a decent supra, ive always loved supras since i saw my first one, I'm just wondering After i sell my car i wanna set myself up with a decent model like i see all these models and i was just wondering how i would go about getting a 2jz-gte bad boy dropped into one ? Is there any sites that could help out, I'm pretty keen to know as i've never been involved with any of this stuff before and i have no idea?. I live in perth atm is there a company anyone knows of that could possibly fit a 2jz-gte into supra body i've looked everywhere but no one is selling a supra with a 2jz already in it. Would it be a cheaper option to start from stock and whatnot? Or whats the best way to go about this. Cheers

F*** me this section is delivering teh lulz lately. OP been watching too much F&F...is surprised at the idea of finding 2JZ engines in MK4 Supras...

Aside from all that.. You are more interested in buying another engine and transplanting it rather than flying over and picking up a car with it already done... wtf..

Like I said I'll explain it to you for those who can't read I'm new to this stuff . I havnt got a clue on how to buy a car from over east . Who sets up the shipping ?, buyer or seller , do I have to run it over the pits when it gets here I obviously will have to get it licensed for w.a and yes i probably could research but why do that when I could get a more simple and quicker explanation from people who know what they're talking about and have possibly experienced this before

I'm not just interested i'n planting a motor i'n one if u read correctly I said would it be a cheaper option to do so . What would be the best way to go about it. Starting new and dropping an engine i'n importing buying straight-out etc so please read and understand where I'm coming from before coming i'n here and trying to troll thanks.

why research when you can ask and get told?

because nobody will spoonfeed you, this has been asked countless times, and you're not even willing to search for yourself.

We're not trolling, from your posts, the only thing i can understand is that you are a lazy person who relies on being spoonfed and refuses to do any research himself. If i'm wrong then I apologise in advance, otherwise, use the search button on the forum =)

Dude sounds like ur making a rite cock of your self mate, do some research on supra's then ask questions..

People dont like wasting time on responces when ur question doesnt make sence..

you find a supra you like over east.. then pay me the thousands you would save if you researched and called you're state transport and a few transport companies.. and I will sort it all out for you.. sound good? has less hassle for you..

also you never asked about cheaper options in your OP.. you mentioned a swap and then said what's the best option..

Do you even realise the factory engine for a Mk4 Supra is a 2JZ?

That's why people are taking the piss outta ya. Why would you want to "transplant" a motor that is already in the engine bay?

:ermm:

    • Oof. One of my mates has an R34 GT-R that he initially was a "I want to go twins for response and convenience" on his stock 2.6 with Kelford 272 cams, but his friends are pests and were always in his ear about their place being in the bin.   Eventually one of the 2860-5s decided to add it's own input and force his hand, so he conceded and went for a Pulsar 6262G ("G35 900") with T4 0.85 hotside.    Here's an overlay of the results, same cams, same stock bottom end, same boost, same fuel, just from a pretty tidy 2860-5 install to a Pulsar turbo on a 6boost maniifold on BP98.   Worth mentioning here, it may seem like a dead horse thing but the dyno plot doesn't tell the story of how much better it is to drive - transient response has completely changed the car, he used to have flat foot shifting to stop it having to wind up again on gear changes even at >7000rpm... now it builds boost faster than that even short shifting.   It's 100% transformed the car before you even consider how much better it holds on: Pulsar and Garrett aren't the same, but from our experience if you're just looking for a better drive and the ability to make the same or more power I think the divided G30 770 would probably be the smallest I'd go to.
    • Great work Duncan, any events local you will give it a test once all done?
    • Sweet, yeah hoping stock gears will hold up. May use the transbrake feature on hill climb starts so that will test it.
    • Yeah, the thread is only nearly 20 years old.
    • Been down in Tassie for 2 weeks (a cruise, not a race for once) but spent a little time on her when I got back. I worked out the injector settings in the PowerFC were not correct for nismo 555s, set those to 66% +10ms and added a little air at closed throttle, set the timing (approximately, because it has some weird non 15o cells around idle) and now she starts and idles properly. She purrs like a kitten (ignore the co2 alarm in the background, I did  ) 20250518_171052.mp4 Next step, off for run-in, tuning and alignment!
