Couldn't find any threads pertaining to this, please direct me if there is.

Just interested to see if anyone is involved with this event in NSW? I should be at the next round and always happy to have a chat and share ideas about anything car setup related.

Just found out there is a few hiccups in the engine build and it won't be ready for Round 2

Oh well, should have a chance to go to an Off the Streets day and do some testing before Round 3. Hope to see you guys there.

Hi Dale,

There was a thread started by Duncan for last year's comp.

I competed 8 of 9 rounds last year and had a blast. It's a bloody shame Oran Park has closed. Now we only have 2 tracks to fang around.

However, I didn't hesitate to enter again this year, it's a good comp with plenty of fun sensible people involved.

Last round on 26/02/11 was a bit of a shocker and the hosting club had some delays in the morning which cut our sessions down to only 4 for the day. We usually get 5 sessions, but 4 is still ok.

I'm in the white S13 Silvia, come and say hi when you get a chance at one of the rounds.

Cheers

Mark

Well, well, well, I have come back from obscurity and entered round 2 of the championship at the Creek.

Don't expect too much on the first outing but hope to have a blast and catch up with some of the fellow drivers.

Hope to see on the 10th.

So how did everyone go on the weekend?

I see the next round is 22nd May - might enter this :)

the questions....slicks or not?

Twas a good day indeed but the rain shortened the prime track time!

I got 3 sessions in and set a new PB of 1:44.95 and 15th overall, 3rd in class.

First time I tried Kumho V710's and they were fantastic.

They are kind of a slick but have two grooves in them. I loved the extra grip and might even try not braking through turn 1 next time when I grow some bigger kahunies!!

Pics of the S13 in action attached.

Anyone coming for round 4 on 22nd May?

I need some competition close to my pace, all these hardcore plebs are way too quick for me..!

Hope to see some stockers out there..

Looks like you and I are the only ones that read this hey Mark!! Our own personal web forum, how good is that!!

Peace out..

Ran well, new PB so what more can you ask for? Only problem is that now I want to go faster...

151.10 is as good as it gets till next time...

The R32 ran well yesterday with a new PB 149.89. Good to see a few Nissans show up and run well. We are pretty much out numbered heavily by other makes of cars but we are still mixing it with the best.

Good to see Nismoman PB with a 144.19 in the stock engined S13 and Wayne punch 1.51.53 in the very lightly modified S14 until the track slowed that put him into the 1.52's for the rest of the day. Zoran in his rocket ship 180sx was on track for faster times than 146.90 until he tragically flat spotted a tyre that ended his day. Even Peter in the stock as wet sock R33 was respectable with a 201.13 ripping into the cars around him.

Hope to see more Nissans in the future as wee need to knock out some of these "hair dresser's" cars that people with dubious sexual preferences drive.

Results of running wide at turn 1 are posted below. Victim was ok, Ford Fiesta not so ok. Support the cause for a tyre wall to be installed on the inside of Eastern Creek turn 1.

Peace out..!

hope your not referring to MX5's! :domokun:

^^ haha of course mx5's!! But anything that's not a Nissan! lol!

Seeing how this is "Skylines Australia" don't forget Marek in his R35 GTR and setting a new class record with a 1:38.62

Fastest Nissan on the day and 3rd outright is an excellent effort.

This competition continually gets the lap times to tumble at EC and Wakie. To give you an idea on how close the competition is, 2 seconds covers 17 cars, from the 1:46 to 1:48 bracket.

If you can lay down a 1:50 (which is a very respectable time) you would've placed 44th out of 97 competitors. It's getting expensive to keep up!!

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
