Major Club Cruise, Western Swing - 15Th May

Recommended Posts

Date. May 15th

Time. 8.30

Location. Macdonalds Yamanto.

Well peeps the much talked about western flood cruise is OOONNNN! I have scouted the route and the roads are in good skyline friendly condition.

WE will depart the rendezvous and swing out via Amberly on to rosewood then through Laidley to forest hill next town Gatton and then through devestaded Granthem.

From granthem we will take the old toowoomba road and then turn off on the Gormans gap road to flagstone creek road which winds its way up to Toowoomba. Its the back way to the city and is largely unkown by most.

Once in toowoomba we will head for picnic point where we will hook up with a couple Toowoomba liners for a chat and a leg stretch and then proceed to withcott for a counter lunch.

From there its a short drive down the toowoomba road to brisbane and home.

Cruise duration. Will be about 1 & 1/2 hours give or take 15 minutes or so and withcott is about 15/20 minutes toward home from picnic point.

This will be the first of 4 major club cruises for the year so lets get behind it and make it a goodun.

Looks like it going to be an awesome turn out, Not having a whole lot of luck with the T'bar owners have told alot about it so we will just have to wait and see. But I'll defiantly be there.

been talknig to clint (TMBA) and he's somewhere up the sunny coast the night before and whilst I tried to get him in on it he thinks timing won't be on his side.

I have a couple more via FB that will probably rock up.

    • I'm actually not sure - I think it was "Stealth Performance" (It really is near impossible to find a FEMALE 1/8BSPT to 1/8NPT male at ALL) but having the thing leveraged on a 90 degree angle on a small aluminium fitting is not too smart. Also in not too smart, I've drilled out the center of the broken fitting so there's maybe 0.00001mm of thread to bite into, so yeah. I may have to get it drilled/tapped/plugged entirely. Given I could conceivably tap a thread/adapter/pressure line in any point in the oil system I suppose it's feasible to run a line to the Nissan Sensor to keep the dash working. Do these exist in AN fittings and the like? Like an AN fitting that has a NPT (or other?) thread as well for putting a sensor in?
    • I would agree.  There will be an amount of boost you could run safely with an otherwise factory system, but it would be low enough to not be worth the cost.  And if you are reliving your 20s, you know a 'little bit' was never enough. Personally, if I didn't want to spend the money, then stick with NA bolt-ons, and maybe a tune.
    • Fuark, at least the motor survived. What brand was the fitting that snapped?
    • Wrong question. There's no point in spending the rather large sum of cash and effort to add turbo, without taking it to the "sensible" limit of the motor itself. If you have to upgrade injectors, etc, then so be it. That is a tiny fraction of what it will cost you to turbo it.
