that reminds me of that tv ad where the guy wakes up, has a cuppa and decides to chop the roof off his car:D:D

sounds like an expensive idea anyways.....dont u have to get that stuff engineered too?? i think it'll look strange as skylines are abit too big in general...would probably look like a 300zx convirtable.......something different but in the same sense funny lookin. u'd be the first to have one though:D:D

someone to a photochop so we can get a vague idea of what it'll look like.

Yea i would be the first one :) and if i sell it people would be what the hell is a r33 convitable :(. Yea i think that the car is too long to be a convirtable, but it would cost a fortune to make it. Good Auto-Salons idea though :P

hehe... go have a look at a convertible silvia and the NUMEROUS stuctural reinforcements that have been added to it by Autech, and then try n replicate them in your R33... otherwise you'll have a nice looking convertible R33 which will crumble n contort faster than a stack of cards.

Roofs in R33's aren't there for looks they function as a very huge strut brace, n the help the car from twisting while you drive... mess up the transfer of force through the car and you could very easily find yourself paraplegic.

im sure there is a 300zx drop top here. Like several of the others are saying the reinforcement is the biggest issue (along with looks I suppose!). Usually the windscreen frames are extra strong as thats the highest point of impact in a roll and the sides are reinforced too.

have found some pics of the drop top 300zx. Not the one from here but on ebay. It only has about a day and a bit to run but here is the link:

Can ya get us some pics SMB =)

A tagra top Skyline huh, would look pretty kool

300ZX's werent convirtable, they had a Tagra top, like the rarer supras

no there was a limited release of convertibles.

and like rhett said the 33s would look stupid but the 32 would suit a drop top more... the 33s lines dont flow properly.

there was a mad one for sale about a year ago for $45K but this thing was a minter...

tan leather... just redone... 20" gold and chrome BBS rims... exhaust... few minor engine mods and a full stere system including subbies with customer install also surrounded in leather... the drop top was also tan and the car was a nice blue/green metalic with a gold pearl.

    • Yeh I think i'll message an old contact i had for ages that manages his own tyre shop now.. n tell him what i want n work with him before ordering..  Got this 17x9 +30 Driftteks on 245/45/17 PSR Drag Radials on the rear.. They fit well - for your reference in future - Rear guards  have been lipped in & minimal to non flaring of the rear Gaurds.
    • If only it were that easy! I also needed to remove seats, shocks, brake calipers, send my car through a fence, and use measuring and ended up guessing because I didn't remove seats, shocks and brake calipers. It can be hard sometimes Can be a little more complex than 'just measure' if you want to truly measure the entire wheel through all of it's suspension travel. But if you aren't going for every last mm then yeah, you can check the space you currently have and guesstimate.
    • If you own a car, and it has wheels on it, and you know the offset of those wheels, and you have a measuring device, you have everything you need to work out if other wheels will fit.
    • Will this fit? but they are staggered set - RAYS 57DR SEMI GLOSS BLACK 18x8.5 +37 | 18x9.5 +38 5-114.3 STAGGERED SET   or If no go could just get a set 4's wheels of 18x8.5 +37 5-114.3 - would i run 8.5's 235s up front n 245's at the back if I do?   Thanks.
    • Put a clamp on your return line. I have a feeling it's sucking air, and introducing bubbles to your fuel. With a lot of fuel, less problematic. I'd honestly be redoing all the lines in the tank and clamps on everything.   Also, you've given two different answers to the same question: Asked if being followed by the police you could get down to use the whole tank, you said yes you could, so long as you keep off boost. However, you then followed this up that free revving, it would also cause the issues. I'm doubting free revving is enough to make any noticeable boost on what is likely a decent sized turbo.   So now I have to ask, can you actually drive it lightly and use all the fuel, or does it break up even free revving? Also, have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it? Can you hear the pump change noise at all when you're having this issue?
