+2....I'd like to know as well.......does anyone know what is going on around here

Hahaha. I thought you were in charge of this one.... Should we start throwing in suggestions for routes etc? I don't have any BTW, but would appreciate it if not too far north, although the last drive thru the mountains was very enjoyable.

Doesn't look like I will be able to make it gents. My engine is half built though still waiting on the port job on the head before run in tune. A real shame really as I should have the car in a week or two though still on a run in tune and I don't want to do anything too far from home in the first 500 km's.

I'll be posting a build thread up later once I have the photos of everything getting done. Gone a little silly on the car with the engine rebuild and thinking of putting a larger turbo on though still undecided what I would want if I move to a single setup.

Got the block chemically cleaned and micro polished, bored 40 though, CP oversized pistons, Nitto h beams, nismo bearings, full arp and head stud kit, crank cryo frozen, tomei oil restrictor, nitto oil pump, high octane sheet metal sump extension, tomei sump baffle, full port job on head, tomei type b cams, tomei valve springs, tomei metal gasket kit, cam baffles, hks type r intercooler, Z32 afms & kakimoto exhaust.

Good idea

southside hills...only leaves Tambo or back of Goldy......need a plan....I will have alook at google

No Dyno. I spoke with EFI. It is too hard to drop front shafts on the day etc etc. and not enough numbers anyway. We would be lucky to have had 5 or 6

My car goes into EFI on Wednesday for 11 days while I am in NZ getting another bigger clutch and a retune from 16 to 20psi

Guys,

I am going to have to cancel this meet all togather.

I was suppose to nbe in NZ now on hoildays but due to ash cloud and cancelled flights, I have had to move my trip back a week. So I actually will not be back until the 11th July.

Plus I wont have my car back from the workshop either due to leaving later.

Will look at re scheduling later in July or eraly August

I was planning on going to qld sau drag day end of July to race again. If people are intersted, could combine a meet and finish there to either watch or join in???

No worries. Since I don't want to organise it, I'm happy to go with whatever comes up.. Maybe there'll be more interest in the dyno if we go later....

Happy holidays mate.

My cars been in the shop for a long 6 weeks putting things back together. The motor went in today. Got a couple photos on Friday checking out the progress... looking nice and tidy.

so is everyone happy with commsman's proposed route?? or would u guys like to hit mt mee again?? or any other suggestions??

LOL, proposed route? I just looked on google maps for the squigliest road in the Gold Coast hinterland  . Not sure now where that was.

I really dug Mt Mee, but was a long drive from Byron. Still happy to go back for another run if that's what people want tho.

    • Further result update. This is from our ATR43SS3 model in T3 .63 rear housing, run against None Geninue G30-770 and 900 spec turbochargers in T3. 82 turbine housing. Those turbos are ideal for RB25det motors, Since I've got a bullet proof RB30det, its been used as test bed instead.  All three turbos run to a point that no more boost could be held and no more power could be made. Same test car and exact vehich setup as been used testing all three turbos:
    • So after having a think about what I was going to do I went with the banjo fitting option. As I'm in New Zealand I end up getting all the bit from Franklin performance for $200. Its better than the what I had before, but will have to put some tape around the ducting and once the car is going will send it and see how it goes 🏎💨🤙.
    • if you want them perfect you will need to strip and repaint (or better, powder coat). They look fine for most use though to me fixing light to medium gouges in the rim is pretty straightforward, can be done on a big lathe, or even on the car, on a hoist with tyre off. deep gouges get bog, no other option really
    • Hey just wondering how does the car drive now with the 4.11 gears now, was there any problems driving with the R33 A-lsd? Also did you upgrade the front diff when you changed to 4.11 gears?
    • If it's all just in paint, then....yes. Sort of. Depends on what you mean by "easily". Complete strip and powder coat? Easy. It's just you hand the wheels and a stack of coins to the wheel guy and they come back fixed. Damage to the alloy? Not easy. Still doable. Same basic method. Wheels + money to the wheel guy.
