I know im not the first bloke to run into trouble with an rb26 but I would like to make it known to everyone the lengths Matty T and Luke Terbeeke were prepared to go to for me today.

In such a time of desperation, its overwhelming to know people would not bat an eyelid to help another person. Mr T has proven this on more than one occasion (ala krishy)

Also thanks to pistol for making the day somewhat enjoyable, plenty of laughs and definitely someone you want to be stranded with if you had a choice...

+1 for Matty T. Always ready to help out like the champ he is

-D

the support you guys are showing matty is great.

but i was stuck there too, wheres the love?! tongue.gif

Pfft. I was on a SAU cruise and got left on the side of the road on my own over 50km from home at 2am while all the other Skylines drove straight past me.

NO I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN.

They probably didn't know you were broken down.

I did a motor 228km from home and drove it home :P

Then continued to drive it for about 6 months. It was fine, just a little harder to start, more sluggish and a bit smokey :P

DO NOT KNOCK THE MIGHTY RB20.

I think I should sell the Stagea while I put myself through University.

It wont feel any love from me during the weekdays, and weekends will probably be the same :(

I'll be catching the train to Uni-SA city east during my course, and feel perhaps its best to have a cheap run around car instead?

Unsure - but advertised for sale, as per sig.

Don't sell it Tangles. Ive thought about it again and again during my uni studies, and I decided f**k it, I'm keeping it. Since then I bought another R32.... and a R31.... lol.

I was going to buy a GTR sometime soon, but I decided I have enough toys at the moment - I wouldnt sell my black R32 to help pay for it, because when I have a real job it will be my daily.

I was the first one behind you, and didnt know why you were pulling over. Otherwise would have come back !

...Im sorry damn it !

PS: Its been 4 years ? get over it :P /joke.

Yeah I dont want to Dion, but if something was to happen (cough *Neil* cough) I dont have the funds to fix anything.

Im on the absolute bones of my arse until this damned house sells; its the worst feeling.

I got myself into this financial mess by being on medication that sent me literally insane, out of work on the pension, and eventually the morgage has climbed back up to max as I havent had the funds the past 3-odd years to fully keep on top of it. Buying the R32 was the stupidest thing Ive ever done I reckon - BUT I simply wasnt thinking straight. Everything I did was aimed at "the fact" Id top myself soon so nothing seemed to matter. ie I didnt care that the ex took money out of the morgage for 2x holidays and a car, etc....

Im much much better since getting off the medication 39days ago; havent had one negative thought so as you may tell thats a Huge turn around, full circle from the lows Ive experienced. My heart says keep it but my head says better off with a 10k falcodore for the next 5yrs. If I can become a Radiologist then in 5-6 yrs I can get back into a morgage and look at getting an R35 perhaps. Im really positive towards whats in store for me but Im not sure if keeping the stagea is the wisest idea.

If the house doesnt sell soon then the stagea or track car simply have to go. Theres no way around it.

    • You’ll be very upset when you bust that too not to mention the gearing totally sucks. Don’t do it.
    • Is the panel filter one that is oiled? Have you ever cleaned or touched the AFM?
    • So.... the K&N air box thingo was too big, ended up gifting it to a mate, well, by gifting it he actually supplied food and beer at the pub,  which was nice, as it will not sit on a shelf in the garage for the next 10 years I did trim up some of the existing stuff to neaten it all up and gave it some wrinkle paint, unfortunately it currently has a used and abused mish mash of different types of hose clamps, 4 big fat T bolt type (shit), and a few normal clamps of vairing sizes and brands, but..... only until the 6 constant tension black worm clamps that I ordered from EFI solutions turn up next week Currently the current hose clamps are triggering me hard, LOL Is this the final version, probably not, I really want just 2 silicone pieces, a straight bit of silicone from the filter to the MAF is easy and will happen as soon as I head into Just Jap tomorrow, the problematic part is a 30° silicone bend from the MAF to the TB that I can connect the engine breather from the head, I found that there are bulk head fittings for boat bilge pumps that should work, but until I can get a 30° silicone bend the alloy pipe, and the 11ty thousand hose clamps, are there for the foreseeable future 4 hose clamps are golden, 6 are grudgingly acceptable, the 8 currently holding it all together is just taking the piss    I've also ordered 60 more retaining wall blocks for the front yard, I mis-gonculated the height that was required to get above the base of the Photinia's (red robin's) that are the hedge behind the front fence, currently it is 2 blocks high, and about 1/2 a block short, so going 3 blocks high will be above the base of the red robin's, and allow some room for mulch
    • It is the stock air box with the panel filter. Everything else is stock except the exhaust at this point, as I also went back to the cleaned 270cc injectors. I will check the RPM when the IACV is unplugged and report back.
    • As MBS suggested if this is happening when the engine is cold you're going to want to remove the intake air regulator and verify resistance + that the shutter is physically opening and closing. At -20C should be fully open, 20C half open, over 60C fully closed. At 20C should be 70-80 ohms. For AAC valve testing using a Consult cable see if you can raise and lower the idle by commanding more or less AAC duty cycle. Hopefully it's pretty linear as well, shouldn't be like 30% AAC valve is barely idling and 40% is 1500 rpm.
