Honestly James, best thing to do is get it online (even from the US with the exchange rate) but make sure you try sizing first (just go to any shop and see what you want and try it and just order online) but if you really want to buy here Peterstevens has a good selection and the clearance center is a good. I've never been here myself but I've be meaning to check them out, you should too http://amawarehouse.com.au/. If you need any advice or help James you still have my number yea?

PS. When you get your bike let me know we'd love to have you on our rides

PPS. I have a friend at peter stevens who could most likely get you 15% off on all gear (excluding clearance) if your bent on shopping here and not online

Also remember US sizing can at times vary, so just be mindful of this as Helmuts certainly can be different after a mate was caught out like that.

Was just lucky another mate of ours was chasing a helmut and it was a fit :)

awsome man...yeah charlie said the same thing..i guess il pop down to ringwood and try some of the gear and give ebay a go. yeah man i still got your number unless you've changed it.

would be awsome to catch up. wont be getting a bike any time soon (get license back novem 15th) but i rather get the gear now. but will forsure go for rides...p.s i'd be happy if you came along n looked at some bikes with me seen as you know what your looking at.

Just remember for Helmets you MUST buy Australian as if you don't have the Australian sticker they charge you the same for not wearing a Helmet (my mom found that out first hand) probably should have pointed that out to begin with

Be happy to bro, let me know if you when you want to check things out we can get the guys out and have a long needed catch up. Go for your L's as soon as you can though since you have to hold them for a year anyway

yer nah thats cool man..already got a aus approved helm that i got for winton.

yer sad thing is i got my L's like a month before i lost my license so now i gotta re-do it *face palm*

Advice given to me by my bikey friends, go to a shop, any shop, try on, find the brand size etc, then shop online! The only time you get good deals is when they're on clearance, but that hardly ever happens, and usually low end stuff never goes cheap.

that's what they told me :)

Just buy the gear second hand off ebay. I've bought heaps of gear only worn a couple times or new for about a thrid what its worth so if you want buy $300 alpinestar gloves some guy has never used instead of some cheap $100 specials form the shop. Recently scored set of over 2k worth of motocross gear for $550 like new (prob never worn) including asterick knee braces off ebay.

Just checked out the Torpedo site and prices are pretty good.

I get my gear from overseas, with the aussie dollar so strong now, i would definitely source my gears overseas.

I believe peter stevens has one of the wides range in store, though on the more price side, however there are still some bargains you can pick up and you can always try on what you would like before you buy them online.

When i was still riding, i have also gotten some of my gears and had my service done at Bike+ down in Essendon North along Keilor Road.

    • ok so if i wanted to go 18's i would go for 8's  in front 30+ or 32+ off set at front and the back 9 would be ok? what offset should i aim for.. then can i do some  hunting for wheel rim choices..    If i get this - will this fit all around: Size: 18 x 8.5 +37 - n what tyres size tyre should i get for front n back?
    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
