im sure they have been used before. If you are going to use it make sure you check clearance issues and make sure all the surfaces are machined flat. For me personaly there are to many gaskets need in the same area which may cause leakages.

I have a similar one but mine has some angle.

Was gonna use it in the 33 with a td06SL2 but ended up going a T67 with a 6boost instead.

the T67 is massive but i did try and mount it with this thing for interests sake, its pretty tight but i reckon if you moved the A/C lines and modified the engine mount it may be possible.

not using this so if somebody wants to buy let me know!

these flow horribly, having the w/g port @ 90* angle from the flow is pretty poor for flow and boost control.

Good for practicality, but If it was me I would spend the extra coin and get a port welded into the rear housing, looks neater too IMO.

yeh i had a similar adapter, had it on my high mount rb30 maniflod, it flowed well but as said clearence was a issue lol,

it was touching my bonnet, even flat spotted my housing hahahah.

if i had to do it again i would modify my manifold.

Yeh Sam and I tried something similar (from scratch) to well and truely hide my external gate.... we waited weeks for the thick metal to come in... then it had to be machined.... was absolutely wrapped... then I did a trial fit....

Unfortunetly, because my car has the same chassis rails as a gtr, it would never fit as they are higher then normal gtst's and as such less room... so you really have to be careful about clearance.

^^yeah thats what i was worried about does seem a nasty angle to have it on......

but I really do wonder if having it on the housing would be any better..

I was worried too... have heard both good and bad... but so far has been fine, as has boost control. I did get it heat coated just incase.

I was actually trying to keep it hidden under the heatsheild, but that doesnt look too bad at all.

But really most aftermarket high mount manifolds have the gate pipe coming off at close to a 90 degree angle... 6 boost, trust etc

you will find the steam pipe ones are setup with less than a 90 degree angle as they have serious boost issues if its not.

I was actually trying to keep it hidden under the heatsheild, but that doesnt look too bad at all.

This was when I was test fitting to make another hole for a bolt.

Great thing is it actually works as a really good heatshield because of where the gate is, I was getting a ton of heatsoak on the intake pipe - it was soo hot after drives I couldn't touch it... and it's meant to be as cool as possible... now its pretty much outside air temp, until I stop and the heat begins to sit and go up, but its generally much much cooler... did alot more then heatcoating....

with all the intake pipes on top you cannot see a thing under there.

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
