Just wondering what everyones heart rate is when at moderate training and at maximum effort

If im doing a 5KM run @ 9.5KM thats a moderate run for me. My heart rate will sit at about 160

At full tilt with sweat pouring off my face at 100% my heart rate would be about 195. For me this is a 5km run at about 12.5 KMS.

21 Years of age =)

Data taken from my heart rate monitor for my last run (5.33km, 12.3 km/h 26mins 3.5sec) tells me my average heart rate for the run was 168, with a max of 179. That's probably an 80-90% work out for me at my current fitness. At the start of the year I managed to get my heart rate over it's theoretical max, but being 35 years old it's not that hard to do lol.

While it's good to know your workout heart rate to make sure you are in the right zone, 2 things that I think are just as important as your workout heart rate are your resting heart rate and how long it takes for you to get back down to a resting rate after your workout. For example my resting heart rate is about 70, and within 5 mins of the end of a run my heart rate has gone from 180ish at the end of the run back down to about 100.

my resting heartrate which gets tested every 3 months when i give blood is 51-53. when i used to smoke my resting rate was around 70. the only time i have tested my heartrate during exersize was on a treadmill after quitting smoking at around 70-80%. would be up around 160 in no time at all and my chest would be on fire.

Running with interval between 10kmh and 13kmh I hit about 170 and gain 1bpm per km I run...max I'd possibly hit though is 178

Normal resting is 58bpm, but if I relax can drop it 50 easy

220-age gives max heart rate (MHR), max heart rate - resting heart rate (RHR) gives you heart rate reserve (HRR), to find training heart rate (THR) is (hrr x training percentage/100) plus resting hr

eg. Resting hr is 54, age is 23

MHR is 220-23 = 197

HRR is 197-54 = 143

50% THR is (143x.5)+54 = 125.5

Using that is a good way to set training intensity goals for a cardio workout eg. Warmup 40-60%, session intervals of 50-80% cooldown 60-40%. I have the intensity guidelines for muscular endurance, strength and hypertrophy (increase size) if anyone is interested in those. I agree with what emtea said, pay attention to how long it takes to get back down to normal, adequate recovery time will allow you to train at higher intensity for longer :-)

Trozzle, let me write you a program :-) lol I need PT Guinnea cops for my last assessment

haha I would Mel, but I'm in the gym for aesthetics - size, and some strength. Not to lose fat or build stamina....lol so I'm already following something Birds has done up for me.

When I wanna get my fitness back up to where it was, I'll hit you up perhaps :P

Shame about it having no basis in science. Using Karvonen gives it a little individuality but it can be off by +/- 20 bpm or more.

But you probably have to use it.

I'm 23, last night my HR running on an incline at 10.5 km/h reached 190,

For the flat it sits at 180-182 at the same speed.

Resting this morning it was 57 BMP

In the gym it has so far peaked at 213.... which is kind of not what that calculation says  So I don't know what my MHR is yet! Just going to wait until I pass out :turned:

Whoops... just realised this is an old thread -_-

My heart rate is high in the rev range (from the heart rate monitor on the treadmill and eliptical trainer).

I'm probably rated as "un-fit"

Going hard I can easily reach 185bpm. Going all out I've hit 200bpm - with sweat gushing from every pore.

Heart rate is usually at the gym is around 175~180bpm

My work colleague is much bigger than me (obese) but much more fit hits only 150bpm, barely breaks a sweat.

    • I hadn't thought about the variable power steering assist. Presumably, it will always be the same level of assist as you get in an S14. The R32/3/4 are either helliishly heavy (at low speeds) if the solenoid is not powered at all, or hellishly too light (at high speed) if it is powered all the time. I presume that it is PWM controlled on those cars. I hadn't thought about the S cars not having variable assist. ugh. What crappy plebby cars they must be!
    • Hmm yeah that is a good point. It looks like it'll just bolt in with no real issue besides maybe the bushings being different. My other concern was that 2 pin plug that I assume is used in some way to control the rack solenoid depending on the speed signal from the ecu. The DMAX rack doesn't even have that plug though so, don't think it'll matter. Might just order the rack and see how it goes. Will update this when I figure something out
    • I'd say it's a fair bet that the feed and return fluid lines will be in different enough spots that you would need to come up with a way to cut the originals short and adapt with new hard line adaption or braided teflon hoses or somesuch. But really, you have the car, you have the photos of the DMAX rack - you should be able to go out there and see for yourself whether they're in the same or different spots.
    • I've been doing some looking around and honestly was just considering throwing a new rack at it. I saw that the dmax silvia rack bolts up into the 33 with the silvia bushings but not sure if the high pressure lines will sit in the correct spot. I believe other version of the 33 rack are the same/similar to the racks that can be opened up without as much fuss so I assume the dmax rack would fit but any ideas?
    • I've never played with one, but I would expect that you are correct. That slot looks like it is intended to be used to unscrew the end, and the flats on the body would be better than grabbing it around the round bit with a pipe wrench. So, yeah, probably unscrews. You'll probably have to make a tool to drive in that slot.
