The first one with the guy in the car looks SICKKK :D

Would love to have a pic of me in my car like that lol

MattBoy coached me for hours beforehand to make sure I held the right Blue Steel look for the photoshoot

Well I went to Phillip Island Circuit on July 2nd, there was the Alfa Romeo Sprint day plus a few other random cars. I managed to sweet talk the organiser of the event and scored a media pass, so I put my fluro vest on and snapped away.

There were a few GTR's too :) Gear used was a Canon 1D Mark IV and a 70-200 f/2.8 IS II

I like that front half of the crx. nice shot. good composition!

those mtb shots are cool. i thinka flash would have helped freeze that motion a bit more, if that's what you were going for. :)

another from friday night... R33 flavoured this time.

cheers matt, yeah I'm kicking myself, I forgot to charge camera batteries the night before so I charged em in the morning. Flash batteries didn't get enough charge though as I only have a trickle charger, had enough for a test shot and that was it lol. doh.

Awesome photos Matyboy worship.gif

Getting Vertigo from that! Great shot :) For some reason, I reckon this could look awesome if converted to B/W and with upped contrast. I also think it could be a great theme if you could get access to some 'darker' buildings that are more adventurous architecturally. If that makes sense.

Just a few from the weekend's Macquarie Pass Pie run; trying out my new 50mm F/1.8 G

cheers. i was considering b&w due to the lack of color in the pic, but im lazy, lol.

as for access to other buildings, most times i gain access by stealth so i dont get a lot of choice as to what rooftops i get onto, haha

Here's a shot from Friday night while out with Matt and Kory. I'm not too happy with it because my flashes wouldn't trigger via wireless for some reason, so the lighting could have been a fair bit better.

Hey everyone,

I got a brand new website up and running. Let me know what you all think.

Cheers

Very nice Sidd. The separation between the Indian and Western weddings is interesting... I wonder if either group looks at your website when telling you what they want for their wedding, and maybe takes some ideas from the opposite side of the world, so to speak.

Nice one mate. Was this before or after the car locked itself?

I find the commander mode / remote flash irritating sometimes; as the sensor for the commander signal on the SB600 is on one side of the flash and if that happens to be on the opposite side to the camera taking the photo, you're a bit stuffed. It'll work indoors with a low ceiling but elsewhere (outdoors) I've found it trickier. Unless I'm missing something, maybe they should put a transparent window the whole way around the flash body, then all that would be needed is some reflective plastic to bounce the commander signal up into a sensor inside the flash.

Thanks mate, this was after the car locked itself.

My flashes have a base that can rotate 270deg so you can pretty much point the sensors wherever you need to and still bounce the flash in the intended direction. It's just that they wouldn't trigger. Oh well...

    • It was a great, but typical track day, and some VB was ingested at the night time debrief 🤪
    • And so, to round this out, I couldn't be happier to confirm @MBS206 has decided to buy the car. He drove down from sunny QLD with a trailer last week and it is off to its new home today. I'll let Matt confirm on next steps but I understand broadly that the plan is to leave it pretty much as is, and just get some quality wheel time with a nicely balanced car that is pretty much track ready. There are a few a jobs still to be done first but nothing too major and I think its a very smart buy Dinner last night at the Paragon with a round of VBs (mostly) for Neil
    • Well, 50 pages and the end of a chapter for this car. We took it out for a shakedown at Wakie yesterday, and everything went well. There were a couple of niggles: - Oil cooler fitting leak - tightened, cleaned, stopped leaking - Radiator cap overflow fitting was leaking....Mark called it, the overflow fitting was threaded in and not tight....tightened, tested and held pressure - Small oil leak at the rear of the block, probably the turbo oil feed - too hot to get at it comfortably but probably just needs to be nipped up - leak at the driver's side rear brake line where it meets the hardline. Fitting wasn't loose, so Matt backed it off and back on, no further leaks - there's also a leak somewhere on the top of the fuel tank, maybe that cross over fuel line - that was has been left to fix when its on a hoist Otherwise than those niggles the car went great, turned great and stopped great so it was a very successful day out. I'm always really nervous when a car first hits the track after a long break, especially with a brand new engine as well but it was great. VID-20251011-WA0007.mp4  Big thanks to @The Bogan who dropped by and helped out, @MBS206 and my nephew Lachlan the apprentice.  Neil's wife Mel also surprised the hell out of all of us by dropping by; she's up in Tamworth these days but was travelling to Melbourne so had plausible deniability for turning up at the garage, it was great to see her but also obviously a bit sad all round.

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
