lilcrash
I'm chasing 250 4wkw atm, here is my pricelist/budget Hypergear atr43ss-1 $1450 440cc deatschwerks $450 Nistune $1000 installed/tuned Z32 upto $300 depending on brand/new/used Walbro gss 341 $120 $3320 total. That leaves $1680 for brakes/suspension Edit. My intercooler was $550 from just jap so that leaves $1130. simdog
Lilcrash maybe we should get a group purchase going?!?!? Its got standard suspension, but the shocks were replaced with new KYB ones about 12months ago. I've had the diff shimmed, was thinking id get front and rear whiteline sway bars. eightsixboy
LOL at 8-9k, the guy would be making a fair profit from that i would assume. A decent highflow will make 250-260 on a 25 pretty easy. Highflow $1500 max Injectors $500-700 Intercooler $500 ECU $1000-1500 including tune Z32 AFM $400 Boost controller $30 Clutch $400 Fuel pump $200 Max it would cost is around 5k, would be cheaper with second hand parts. Link arnt that great from what I've heard, a power fc or nistune would be way better, nistune if probably the best option due to it been undetectible. Theres no point spending big money on a turbo setup if your only chasing 250rwkw. SargeRX8
Yeh stock brakes are good but all too often you find worn rotors and 20yr old pads.... Have you driven with a mechanical diff SargeRX8? guess it depends on what type of driver you are but I find stock diff's completely crap especially now most of them are old and worn... When I say suspension Im talking about the whole package if the bushes are all stock your gonna have to replace them. Im probably a bit fussy when it comes to an "overall package" but when you do everything right they are great fun. I'm considering giving my brakes a make over, and if I do(full set of rotors, calipers and pads) I will have spent more modifying my car than I did on the car it self lol. I don't see it as a waste. Its something I want, something I worked for, something I chose. Ive never drive a car with a mechanical but Ive driven a fully locked diff and I don't like it lol. For me I'm not a tracker, I don't drift and I don't smoke my rear tyres. Its just the odd push to red now and then and I love it. I'm considering doing all my bushes but that is something which will cost a fair penny, especially on labor as its something I don't think I can do in my drive way(for the subframe anyway). Silvia GTR
I had it when i lived in the UK. It was a 9000 Aero, 225hp from the factory, the performance software to remap the ecu is on the net, a guy in the SAAB club had the computer leads to reflash it. I got a 3inch downpipe and went to 276hp at the front wheels with 330nm of torque, all for the equivilent of $400. The car cost the equivilent of $1200. For the money (in the UK) nothing on 4 wheels is quicker. Wouldnt you rather have that power at you rear wheels? Anyway its not hard to get the power your after on you budget as everyone else has mentioned, If you can do most of the work yourself. Other than that you should be able to find plenty of R33's with that sort of power for sale. simdog
Yea that power through the front wheels was only usable in 3rd+, 1st and 2nd would just spin the wheels and not in a fun slidey controlable way. SargeRX8 id be selective changing bushes, one of my experiences is making a saab crashy and less fun to drive by putting too many poly bushes in. Unless its a track car that is. lilcrash
Group buy is deffinately a good option, I am waiting on my tax money to buy parts so prob end of month il be right to go. I am actually considering getting the injectors, fuel pump and afm from kudos down the coast, they are a forum sponsor so they might be happy to help with the group buy situation. Edit. $1001 total for the parts mentioned, that's the online shop prices, but through eBay I can get the afm $100 cheaper and the injectors are $100 cheaper direct from deatschwerks. If kudos can come to the party and do the 4 items for $800 in a group buy I will go with them Edited July 5, 2011 by lilcrash Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/369892-5000-on-toys/page/2/#findComment-5899284 Share on other sites

lilcrash
Top feed i think. Deatschwerks make them both i think but the price I got is for an r34. Same price for r32/33 though Edited July 6, 2011 by lilcrash Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/369892-5000-on-toys/page/2/#findComment-5899457 Share on other sites

lilcrash
Simdog. The injectors they have for a non neo 25 are 550cc and retail for $220 more then the 440s for the neo. So the same package for you would be a base price of $1221 minus discount if any. TiTAN
Link arnt that great from what I've heard, a power fc or nistune would be way better you sir must be smoking crack. a link G4 plugin unit is years ahead of the old powerfc and if you take into account the $$ spent on the AFM and put it towards the ECU instead you can get one for similar money, tuning will probably be a bit more expensive though. dori34
why not do a twin turbo conversion & be different? mine made just a tad under 250rwkw and 530nM of torque with VCT turned off( so with it on, i should get some more torque & power) R34 GTR turbos $500 custom lines & returns $250 stock RB26dett manifolds $50 modify exhaust manifold flange $40 head flanger (to space the turbos out) $80 R33 GTR dumps $50 JJR front pipe $300 nistune install + tune $1000 custom intake two > one pipe to match Z32 $200 z32 $300 walbro $130 550cc injectors (or get 6x S15 injectors they are 440 or 480cc) s/h $200-$400 FMIC $400 with some change to spare. that pretty much most of the major parts involved. and the induction noise on boost is insane Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/369892-5000-on-toys/page/2/#findComment-5901955 Share on other sites

Not true, link is better than nistune or PFC, much much newer. Theres no point spending big money on a turbo setup if your only chasing 250rwkw. Basically this, $5k to do it properly sounds about right, there is a bunch of stuff that can still break though. This is also assuming you can do everything yourself, add $1000-1500 if you pay a workshop to do the clutch, turbo, fuel pump, injectors, intercooler + piping. My advice, sell the car and buy one with most of this stuff already done. Also as simon said, 240-300kw costs the same, 300kw will just break more stuff and quicker. simdog
Yeah have been looking into that and youre right, but............ its gotta be a 4 door so it limits my options, otherwise id have bought Dans RB25/30 GONER GTST. There is a 4 door Impul racing R33r forsale on Carsales, its up for 12k and making 177kw. Its done over 200k and works out to be $4000 more than i bought mine for and id still have to spend a bit to get it up to 250kw, plus a few car buddies of mine have asked ''what are you going to be inheriting?'' Its an age old car dilemma!!! The garages that have serviced mine (put bits on) have said its in fantastic condition, plus the baby seat is in it and its a PITA to take out and put into another car!!!!!haha Basically this, $5k to do it properly sounds about right, there is a bunch of stuff that can still break though.
