Yep still fine man :)

My girlfriend has been taking them aswell and no negative effects.

One day I had a tiny bit of a fishy taste from a burp a couple of hours later but that's only because I was running late for work, didn't eat breakfast and only had the tablet.

  • 5 weeks later...

i use Triple Strength Fish Oil from GNC

http://www.gnclivewell.com.au/product.asp?id=88&t=Triple+Strength+Fish+Oil+GNC+&cid=8

1 a day, dont see many noticeable results, but I didnt when I was taking 6 a day of another brand either.

It might work better if taken in conjunction with Musashi Inositol

Inositol and EPA/DHA collectively strengthen the myelin sheaths of cells.

And Plan C is to also introduce Coenzyme Q10 whilst working out.

I can't say that the above is the answer for you; but at least it's a process of elimination.

  • 3 weeks later...

My order turned up late last week of the same brand Phil got, i did the premium though.

So far only taking 1 per day and I'm not getting any major issues with reflux and I get it bad with other tablets.

Very impressed and I'm feeling quite good at the moment. Will report back in a couple of weeks.

I cannot recall any info that says that fatty acid chains are altered deleteriously during the canning process.

Experiment:- try omega 3 at optimal doses for say 3 months then stop > then check a couple of weeks later if your functioning falls off somewhat?

My question was more related to the content of Omega 3, i.e. Is the tuna can a suitable daily dosage?

Experiment sounds good but OCD won't let me do that lol, it'll pickup on some psychosomatic placebo response even if I'm in the control group :P

On the plus side Tiger Balm works wonders for me...

What benefits should I be looking for (bad experimental bias here) when introducing Omega 3 to the diet?

Curiously, if I'm eating a 95gm can of tuna each day, will this give me enough Omega 3 or should I be supplementing with tablets?

My 195gram can of tuna in olive oil contains:

32mg EPA

155MG DHA

Olive oil contains omega 3's, and its ~81% tuna, 19% olive oil.

An omega 3 capsule contains a lot more than that, tuna is not a fatty fish, salmon is :)

Ideally you should be balancing your omega 6 to omega 3 ratio, although I've never known how much omega 6 I'm getting through my diet so I've been taking a small amount of fish oil.

EDIT: Possibly irrelevant but one of the benefits of omega 3 is lower inflammation levels. However, I've found circumin much more effective than anything else for that, its got my tendonitis under control :)

Must report in... Getting slight reflux issues with the Xtend life product, in certain situations.

The only time I do is if I take one soon as I get outta bed. So not having eaten for 8-9hrs.

Long as I have even a small amount of food, its totally fine.

So quite impressive overall

Good to gear man. I've noticed similar. If I take one before breakfast I get a couple of burps after an hour or so.

After breakfast or with any food it's all good.

I'm onto my second bottle now. Got the second one a lot cheaper due to their loyality program thing :)

I get mine in less than 15mins after taking it :D

But ye, overall quite good. Not sure if it's just the oil or the fact im coming off a pretty hefty illness but im certainly feeling quite good the past week since I've started taking it

So what's the deal with fish oil tablets? Been thinking of buying some... I eat about 180g canned tuna a week - would that be sufficient enough to not have to supplement with fish oil tablets?

What brand should I get if I do need some? They will need to be small tablets, I currently don't swallow tablets because my mind say's no haha.

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
