Not exactly minutes, but not too long if you know what your doing, ill do a write up, ill call nissan now and see if i can get the gaskets today, so the standard gaskets are better than the ebay ones yeah.

From what I can see you have major issues I may be able to help with a few things here:

tcs light / slip light stays on - This is common on R34's and is usually solved by putting in new coil packs (jjr, yellow jackets, splifires) this is what I did to solve this in my car.

Leaking gasket of unknown origin - take the heat shield off the turbo and grab a length garden hose put it to your ear and put the other end to the manifolds (turbo and exhaust) check it a section at a time, this is the easiest way to see what is blown (I had a similar problem with mine it was my turbo manifold gasket - replaced with ultra copper gasket maker and it has no problems now).

Boost gauge / controller issues - buy an electronic boost gauge / controller that is known to be quallity manufactured IE: Apexi AVC-R (cheaping out on these cars will really break the bank later on down the line)

If your car is still having issues with these things after this go see a mechanic that has skills with skylines don't take it to joe blogs down the road as they tend to have very specific issues.

also check for perished hoses on the throttle body ( I found 2 on mine and it was in damn near immaculate nic everywhere else)

Hey randomhero, well I was told that aswell but the car isnt missfiring or anything? and usually if its the coil packs doesnt the check engine light turn on or anything? well I put the new o2 sensor in and the fuel economy is awsome now, 400kms to the tank thats double of what i was getting :D, as for the idle, I cleaned out the afm with afm cleaner, went for a nice spirited drive and its back on 950rpm so I'm happy, hopefully if its not raining tomorrow I will be changing the turbo gaskets, as for the boost guages I found the problem, the T peice had blown a hole in the middle and was leaking there, i havent ever seen that happen before but yeah wierd haha lol, do you think its time I can put my front mount intercooler on? would I be expecting any power gains from a front mount? also what are the best brake pads that make minimal brake dust? the ones that are on there now are just horrible the whole car turns black after a few stops.

One more thing, is it normal for the rear bar to go black from the exhaust? is that just because its running rich?

Thanks everyone for your help.

Hey guys what do use think is better just geniuine nissan turbo gaskets or permaseal mls-r gaskets? ive read great comments about both, soon ill be running around 12psi like i used to untill these problems arised, please let me know asap please, thanks.

Hey thanks jez I've ordered the permaseal ones and I should receive and fit them tomorrow hopefully, the car still smells really rich from the exhaust, what else could be causing such a rich mixture.

Also I noticed today that when the car is idleing its at around 900-950rpm, when I turn the parker lights on it rises around 150rpm and then when I turn the full head lights on its only raised around 50-100rpm.

Also does anyone know about the black gunk on my rear bar and exhaust that I mentioned earlier.

Thanks to everyone for your help, I really do appreciate it greatly, thanks.

Are you selling the O2 sensors? Im only getting 300K per tank.

I had a similar problem..

My link my post

at the end my AFM was causing the problems, but after cleaning the AAC the idle is much better

Aac cleaning

Hey guys I installed a E-Boost 1 in my car and I'm having some problems, no matter how I set it the boost is never right, it keeps on fluctuating, say on setting 2 I put it to run 10psi it will boost up at 3000rpm spike to 14 and then at 4500rpm just kark it and go to 5psi, its not cutting out or anything just loosing the boost hard, I've played with the sensitivity and gate open pressure and it just wont work right, I'm using iradium plugs 1.1mm gap, currant mods are 3" cat back exhaust, pod filter, I'm getting a FMIC installed this week but i doubt that that will help with the boost, any help is much appreciated, thanks.

Hey guys, well I finally decided to degrease my engine bay, and I thought the coilpack cover should be sealed, well I guess not, and its been missfiring so i just left the car on to let it dry off because my aircompressor is at work and after about 20 minutes of driving/idleing it was ok, now it started again mainly on boost but sometimes on idle, have I killed my coil packs? or should i just wait untill i get my aircompressor back and dry it up? let me know asap please, thanks.

    • I don't know it is due to that. It could just be due to load on track being more than a dyno. But it would be nice to rule it out. We're talking a fraction of a second of pulling ~1 degree of timing. So it's not a lot, but I'd rather it be 0... Thicker oil isn't really a "bandaid" if it's oil that is going to run at 125C, is it? It will be thicker at 100 and thus at 125, where the 40 weight may not be as thick as one may like for that use. I already have a big pump that has been ported. They (They in this instance being the guy that built my heads) port them so they flow more at lower RPM but have a bypass spring that I believe is ~70psi. I have seen 70psi of oil pressure up top in the past, before I knew I had this leak. I have a 25 row oil cooler that takes up all the space in the driver side guard. It is interesting that GM themselves recommend 0-30 oil for their Vette applications. Unless you take it to the track where the official word is to put 20-50w oil in there, then take that back out after your track day is done and return to 0-30.
    • Nice, looks great. Nice work getting the factory parts also. Never know when you'll need them.
    • Thanks @jtha7 I will have a look around tomorrow but it is a prick of a spot. These are some photos i tried taking
    • I take it that the knock retard is from bearings tapping a little tune? Thicker oil is a fragile bandaid. You need a much bigger oil cooler and probably the bigger pump being discussed.
    • Hi @Chupapy i had several leaks from coolant pipes being corroded, i also had one leak on back of the head onto transmission. For me that leak was from the turbo water line. Follow the line to the back of the head The hose and metal pipe had perished these are the best pics I took of it at the time
