Since most here are PC junkies, is there anyone getting BF3 for console??

PS3 - to be more exact? :whistling:

probably me....

looking to build a tower that can run this, but i dont think i will be able to afford that anytime soon.

already have a ps3, so looks the easiest route.

playstation network name: deadener

add me, you know you want too...

For the technophiles and PS3 fanbois

It's DICE's presentation on how they've maximised the ps3 tech i.e. RSX + utilisation of the multiple SPU chips, to perform parallel processing as opposed to serial.

This is basically how the first-party games are made eg. God of War 3 and Uncharted 2+3. Actually, I remember I had also included a similar presentation from SCE Santa Monica on the GoW3 thread.

Without getting into the politics, it's good to see that not all companies laze about on the console and actually put a bit of effort into it... unlike what many PC geeks tend to advise :nyaanyaa:

Dunno what the PS3 version is like but the Xbox version looks like shit.

PC really is on a different level these days though.

The PS3 doesn't fair any better in the 'compare to PC' stakes.

Lol obviously div. PC version is unbeatable.

But it has proven to have higher textures and less jaggies when compared with the xbox version (xbox on top)

The only reason MW3 has smashed pre-sale records is because of the continuing storyline from MW2. I'll give MW3 that - the storyline is fuarking epic and im still buying MW3.

But for realism and graphics, BF3 will SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT all over it.

Realism and graphics are what ruin FPS. COD4 was and probably always will be the best FPS and it had absolutely no realism and terrible graphics.

A good FPS needs 2 things above all else, a good engine, so you move fluently and freely, and BALANCE. Balance is probably the most overlooked. COD4 had reasonable balance (yes it could have been improved), MW2 and BOPS don't.

With enhanced graphics and realism inherintly comes detailed maps and backgrounds which inturn bring camping. When weapons are made to be more realistic the game becomes unbalanced. An example of balance is someone of any playing style should be able to find a weapon class that suits them and be competitive to the point of their skill level with no weopon class or playing style having an overall advantage over any other. The most skilled player ie: the winner, should be the one who can adapt and excel at any playing style or weapon class required.

The single player on COD is a waste of disc space really and is certainly not what drives it's record pre-orders. The multiplayer is what sells it and keeps bringing people back.

Bottom line is BF and COD are 2 very different games that don't appeal to the same people. BF is for strategists, in COD we refer to them as campers.

I'll be buying MW3 and probably won't even glance at BF on the shelf on my way out the store.

I totally agree with what you said except for "BF is for strategists, in COD we refer to them as campers."

I was all for MW3 (even refer to my previous posts) because I loved the arcade style gameplay but after playing the BF3 beta, I've now converted and have even pre-ordered a copy.

Camping is BORING. There's no enjoyment in it. Perking up on Lightweight, Marathon and Sleight of Hand and running around was my COD style; which seems to work quite well in BF3 too.

Plus, BF3 relies heavily on teamwork to properly progress and is much less reliant on K/D ratios... in which camping is a crappy strategy.

    • Hi guys . Can someone help me  I bought an Android screen for my Nissan fuga but it won't turn on
    • My guesstimate, with no real numbers to back it up, is it won't effect it greatly at all.its not a huge change in position, and I can't see the air flow changing from in turbulence that much based on distance, and what's in front of it. Johnny and Brad may have some more numbers to share from experience though.
    • Which solenoid? Why was it changed? Again, why was this done? ...well, these wear..but ultimately, why was it changed? Did you reset the idle voltage level after fitment? I'm just a tad confused ~ the flash code doesn't allude to these items being faulty, so in my mind the only reason to change these things, would be some drive-ability issue....and if that's the case, what was the problem? Those questions aside, check if the dropping resistor is OK ...should be 11~14 ohms (TCU doesn't throw a flash code for this) ~ also, these TCU designs have full time power (to keep fault code RAM alive), and I think that'll throw a logic code (as opposed to the 10 hardware codes), if that power is missing (or the ram has gone bad in the TCU, which you can check..but that's another story here perhaps).
    • Question for people who "know stuff" I am looking at doing the new intake like the one in the picture (the pictured is designed for the OEM TB and intake plenum), this design has the filter behind the front bar, but, the filter sits where the OEM duct heads into the front bar, and the standard aperture when the OEM ducting is removed allows the filter to pulled back out of the front bar into the engine bay for servicing, a simple blanking plate is used to seal the aperture behind the filter This will require a 45° silicone hose from the TB, like the alloy pipe that is currently there, to another 45° silicone hose to get a straight run to the aperture in the front bar Question: how will it effect the tune if I move the MAF about 100-150mm forward, the red is around where my MAF is currently, and the green would be where it would end up Like this This is the hole the filter goes through  Ends up like this LOL..Cheers
    • Despite the level up question, actually I do know what that is....it is a pressure sender wire.  So check out around the oil filter for an oil pressure sender, or maybe fuel pressure near the filter or on the engine. Possibly but less likely coolant pressure sensor because they tend to be combined temp/pressure senders if you have one. Could also be brake pressure (in a brake line somewhere pre ABS) but maybe I'm the only one that has that on a skyline.
