Bad news AGAIN

Inlet manifold gasket blew so no results again today so gunna be another week before the tune and some results

Big shout out to Jase for hanging around today

Bet ya glad i wasnt selling any T25's today haha

Car will be there again end of next week Steve O if you are around again

Wish i knew buddy lol dont think it has been apart before but it will be next week now just think its old an brittle and soon as we pushed some decent pressure into her she let go!:domokun:

Weird, what would cause an inlet manifold gasket to blow, has it been off before?

It always does

thats the problem with having a car sit around for ages then go straight for tuning..it goes from doing nothing for 6 months to full power runs on a dyno..

When my car has been sitting for months, It always takes a while to loosen everything up..a good hour long drive at least before it feels normal again and i feel confident to flog it a bit..

Problem is you need to do this before dyno tuning not after, bit hard when you have limited tuning skills though..

So its always a worry heading for the dyno after a build.

My car hasnt sat around for ages mate my car gets driven couple times a week but doesnt do many K's tho tbh and shit weather in sydney right now so its hard to have a decent fang with 300kw+ on the tar :whistling:

Well for an amatuer like me anyways haha

HAHA all good mate, was a good day. Lucky you didnt have any 'T25 plans' as Id have probably freaked out, trapped in a barren land.. No idea how to escape.... The west.... LOL

Yeah i'll be there on thursday and friday with a 32 GTR :)

Hahaha thanks Steve O gave tyson a look at my pipework today and he said that 1 of the boys off the forum had mentioned my work to him. That wouldnt of been you would it mate? :whistling: Hope ya get to check it out AND that it lives up to expectations now LOL

I secretly hope not - so it's delayed till tomorrow when I'll be there too haha

May have been haha!!

They rate it out there too, I think the term used was "pretty fkn shmick stainless work" from memory

Once it's tuned, what sort of driving stuff do you do? Trackdays? Hillclimbs? Motokhanas? Drift?

LOL Dont make that joke.. 9 out of 10 Nissan accidents start off with 'watch this bro'... This is a very 'watch this' time for old Micko lol

But you will have to wait for him to spill the beans ;)

    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
